Question about 2001 BMW 330

Window regulator and motor

Do you suggest replacing the motor as well as the regulator at the same time. I read if you dont the timing in the old motor may not be set right and could become a pain in the neck to get it right unless you purchase the regulator and motor assembly together

My 1997 Chrysler sebring jxi's rear passenger side window doesn't go up, down, or even make a noise when I hit the switch. Is it the regulator? Also how would I replace it if it is?

Start with the cheapest answer and work your way up.
That would mean checking the switches first. Will it work with the window switch nearest it (rear seat switch)? Will it work from the driver's door master switch? If the answer to both is "no", then it is likely the window motor. You can often replace just the motor or replace the window/regulator as a unit.
I would suggest you seek help for that, if you have no idea how to do and you do not have the service manual for the car. It can be complicated getting the old regulator out and removing the glass.

Driver side front power window does not work, switch is good Either motor or regulator?

bad motor if it doesnt work at all....if the window works but is slow u need to replace the motor an regulator since a sticking window regulator will overheat the motor causing it to fail prematurely ..u dont want to pay for the repair twice plus it is easier to replace both parts at the same time since they r connected to each other

I NEED TO REPLACE POWER WINDOW MOTOR HAVINF HArd time to remove the old one is for 1995 F250 7.3.L POWER STROKE

I am replacing a window on a 1992 250 also. you have to remove the window motor and regulator as a unit and then replace the motor. to do this you may have to drill out the rivest that hold them in place. be careful not to let the window drop and break in side the door

It looks like my 2005 audi a4 2.0t's window regulator cable has come off and wrapped itself around where the window motor and the regulators plastic gears come together. Do I need to buy a new window...

You would be better off replacing your regulator. You should be able to purchase one without the motor. It jumped off the track for some reason. Your cable is stretched now (more than likely) and this will cause you further problems down the road. After you replace the regulator, be sure to lubricate the window guides with SILICON WD-40, not regular WD-40. Use it liberally and cycle the window up and down numerous times then let it dry.

I need to take a power window motor out of my 2001 chevy silverado 2500 but dont know how

You need to replace the " regulator". this includes the motor, cables and pulleys ect. $80-100. Open door, remove door panel, cut the clear plastic around the door handle, loosen the 2 clamps on the top vertical travel rails that clamp to the window, (this is all part of the regulator) . somehow you need hold the window up, (I use a towel, 2 pieces of wood and a big clamp) now the window glass can be released from the clamps on the regulator. unbolt the regulator mechanism and replace. should take an hour or less the first time. about 10-15 minute thereafter. bc

How to install a motor and regulator in a 996 acura intergra passenger door for the window?

The motor will be on the regulator already, remove your door panel, you'll have to plug the switch back in for your window to raise/lower to access the 10mm bolts that are holding your window to the regulator. Either remove your window or secure as if it were rolled up. Remove all the 10mm and 12mm bolts in the way of your old regulator and replace in reverse of removal. Good luck, it's tedious but easy your second time.

Front side window is down and will not rise

If the other windows work, the problem is not a fuse. The window regulator and window motor each could be bad. A glass shop can remove the door panel and replace the parts in about an hour. If you want to do it yourself, the salvage yards have the motors. But the left and right motors are not the same. The window regulator is plastic and old plastic is not reliable. If you are good with tools you need to take off the door panel, electric switches, speaker, and block the window up with wood and a clamp so you can get the motor out. The regulator takes a little patience to replace. By the time you are done you will have spent at least 4 hours chasing and replacing parts yourself.

Window dont work

that would most definitely be your power window motor. the motor iself is worn out. if you remove the door panel you will see whats called the window regulator (holds the window in the tracks). you might be able to replace just the window motor but sometimes you have to replace the whole regulator assembly. it depends on the vehicle.

Driver seat all power window not rolling up

Check the appearance of the door window rubber tracks. Are they warped or distorted? If so, the motor has to work harder to raise the glass past distorted window guides. If the rubber guides are distorted in any way, they need to be replaced. If not, the motor may be weak, and it may need to be replaced.

I need to replace the power window motor in a 1990 Accura

Ok, I'm assuming you verified that in deed the motor is faulty. You will need to remove the door inner trim panel switches, entry lighting and inner door handle will need to be unplugged/removed there should be a inner weather seal also this seal is important if you would like to keep the inner trim panel from rotting away so carefully remove it. Attached to the window motor is the regulator. The window is directely connected to reg. by two fastening nuts 10 mm. window stops at top of door as well remove. I mark there location when removing this makes adjust alot easier and most times no adjustment needed if marking is right once window is out regulator and motor can be removed I strong suggest that if possible to move the reg. and window motor in full up position to remove motor this is because the reg. has a spring assit to help raising window glass and is under tension to be wary of this fact Three screws attach motor to regulator these screws will in most cases be tight sometimes requiring " Impact Driver Tool" this is a hand used with a ball peen hammer once screws are out reassembliy time If this is your frist time with this type of repair I suggest help of assitant window glass will need to be very carefully handled.. good luck
