Question about 1988 Buick LeSabre
CAR WAS HAVING TROUBLE STARTING FROM TIME TO TIME. WOULD FINIAL START UP AFTER FLOODING GAS PEDDLE. WOULD ALSO RANDOMLY INCREASE ENGINE SPEED. THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A SENSOR SO I LOOKED AT AND TOOK OFF THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR. AFTER PUTTING IT BACK THE CAR STARTED UP, BUT I FEW MINUTES LATTER THE CAR TURN OVER AND WOULDN'T START AND THEN NOTHING. THE LIGHT WHEN ON BUT NOTHING WOULD TURN OVER NOT A SOUND. CAN ANY ONE HELP.
May have killed the battery causing the 'nothing would turn over...'.
if started with gas pedal, then cam sensor is not problem. things that prevent a start on that year, and fuel related is coolant temp sensor, map sensor, tps, possible egr. randomly increase engine speed is pointing to egr. Just some advice, but no means should you buy parts based on this advice.
