1995 Jaguar XJS

I cannot find parts either new or used for this car. I need the rear quarter window up and down relay switches and the passenger rear tail light assembly. Any suggestions?

I agree with Keemo, looking first for a second hand spare may save you some money.

Unfortunately, unless you live in UK, where X types are quite common, you normally do not find Jaguar spares at the scrapyard around the corner.

Have a look on Ebay first, if you cannot find what you are looking for, check the following lonks, first one sells both new and second hand, second one sells new:

New and Used Jaguar Parts

Jaguar Parts. Discount Jaguar Auto Parts.

Try also here, they are in UK, but they ship worldwide.

They both sll worldwide, if the spare is not in list, call them for a quote.

    just a quick note
they dont always list every part so when you search you might want to search a couple of items and when you find a salvage yard with a parts car like yours they have many other parts they would love to sell you and many of these yard will make a better deal with you if you need more parts . so if there is anything you need dont be afraid to ask . many times when i order they throw in small extras at no extra charge.

If you can't find replacement parts online it's a good idea to look in salvage yards they generally have plent of those type of parts for next to nothing, matter of fact i just saw one today. I guess it all depends of where you are at .post back with your e-mail and i will find them for you

Where is the power window relay located in a 2002 mercury villager?

Principles of Operation
The driver power window regulator motor is controlled directly by the master window/door lock/unlock switch (and its integrated "auto down" module). Power is supplied to the power window relay and the master window/door lock/unlock switch, and the passenger power window switch when the SEC/timer module grounds the coil side of the power window relay. The SEC/timer module will ground this relay when the ignition is in the ON position and will remain energized for approximately 15 minutes or until the driver or passenger door is opened.
The driver power window regulator motor is a reversible motor that is operated by applying power and ground to the motor leads to lower the window, and then reversing polarity on those leads to raise the window.
The passenger power window regulator motor is controlled directly by the passenger power window switch and can also be controlled by the master window/door lock/unlock switch.
The passenger power window regulator motor is a reversible motor, which is operated by applying power and ground to the motor leads to lower the window, and then reversing polarity on those leads to raise the window.
The power rear quarter glass is also directly controlled by the master window/door lock/unlock switch. The power rear quarter glass power latches also utilize reversible motors. The power rear quarter glass power latches are operated by applying power and ground to the motor leads to open the window, and then reversing polarity on those same leads to close the window.

Jaguar xjs 1995 v12 engine lack of power

I would start with a tune up, then isolate any symptoms other than lack of power if it persists, like rough idle, sputtering, jerking, engine trouble codes, etc.

1995 Jaguar convertable XJS quarter light windows wont go up

The rear windows are controlled by a timer in the top's ECU. If
the rear windows stop fully closing before your top is closed, the
problem MAY be with top's hydraulic system.

Check your top's hydraulic reserve tank for low fluid level. Lack
of fluid will greatly delay the top's closing sequence, leaving
those rear windows partially open.
Your top's hydraulic pump system is located beneath the right side
of the cubby/storage box behind the front seats. Raise the cover
and you'll see a removable trim panel on the right side. The pump
is behind that access panel.

You can use power steering fluid to top off the tank, but don't
fill it above level indicator line. You may have to add more fluid
after you cycle the top up and down to get the air bubbles out of
the lines.
It could also be a relay. On a 95 the relays that are in the trunk above the battery.
Perhaps, just switching the relays might prove which one is failing..

This may be just a case of inadvertently hitting the window lock out n th driver door window switch by mistake. Check that first. Here's some background on window operation

Electric rear quaterlight window does not return when the convertible roof of the car is closed

On my 1990-XJS, one of the quarter windows did not come up: with the help of the "Electrical Guide", Fig. 29-1/-2 I was able to fix it. In your case, if only one of the 2 windows does not go down, then it can't be the fuse but most likely the culprit is the "down" relay for each of the 2 quarter windows, located under the luggage compartment floor at the driver's side (there are six "Change-over relays" all together). It is unlikely that the ECM is involved because again, it would affect both windows.Yes, like anything else on a Jaguar, it involves some WORK. To help you further, I'd need more details.
I have been able to maintain two similar Jaguars for 12 years with good results, and might be able to help you further.,
