They shouldn't - they only work when you do a wash/wipe.

The headlights of your Volvo do an important function on your vehicle. The headlights provide the illumination that the driver of the vehicle needs to see what is ahead of the vehicle, especially when driving at night or when driving with low visibility conditions. But there are times when dirt sticks on the headlight lenses, decreasing the efficiency of the headlights. So that you will not have to come down from car just to wipe the dirt off the headlight lenses, headlight wipers with Volvo Headlight Wiper Blade are installed on your Volvo.   The headlight wipers’ functions are similar to the function of the windshield wipers; the only difference is the location. For the headlight wipers to efficiently clear out the dirt and the precipitation, the Volvo Headlight Wiper Blades should always be in good shape. If you need a new wiper blade, you can get the Volvo Headlight Wiper Blade. Each Volvo wiper blade is made from high quality materials and they are guaranteed to last long.
this headlight wiper blade is also used as a clearing material in order to prevent the headlight covered with dust and other element which can be cause for your headlight to produce inadequate light rays.

Sounds like you have at least one blown fuse. Check the fuse panel, It's on the driver's kick panel next to the dead pedal (where you rest your left foot) to the left. of the clutch. The cover for the fuse panel faces the center of the car.

Here is a picture of a good and blown fuse:

1986 Ford Tempo LX wipers won't shut off, all the other speeds work fine.

You must have a bad wiper switch. By any chaqnce, is the headlight switch and wiper switch on the same stalk? The bad alternator may have shorted out the switch or it may have caused some wires to get hot, melted the insulation, and the heasdlight feed wire is passing current to the wipers-this would be hard to find, but look at the connector for the wiper switch, and check the wires both before and after the connector as far as you can to look for a wiring problem. I hope the new wiper switch fixes it.
Good luck.

The wipers will not work in the daylight....when he starts the truck in the daylight the wipers will not come on.....at night when he is leaving work the wipers will work.....checked the fuses and replaced...

So what youre saying is the wipers work when the headlights are on
but the wipers dont work when the headlights are off?

I would suspect the turn signal switch is bad. I believe the switch on your S-10 controls
the wipers as well as switching from high beams to low beams. Since that switch is related
to the control of both headlights and wipers.

Could also be the headlight switch. The wiring harness from the turn signal switch plugs
into the headlights switch. I would replace the headlight switch first since you can get one
for around $25. Turn signal switch costs $150-$200. Maybe a little more or less for your vehicle.

The first thing you should do is check your transmission fluid! then look for leaksif it keeps happening and the last step would be to look into getting the tranny checked by a mechanic.
