HI.....
The problem on your Vehicle related with the VSV.
VSV . VACCUM SWITCH VALVE..

But the problem is you have 3 VSV On your car.
And all of 3 affect the Emission or smog TEST.

1---- EGR VACCUM SWITCH VALVE
2-- EVAP VACCUM SWITCH VALVE
3---- VAPOR PRESSURE SENSOR VACCUM SWITCH VALVE..

All are located on Left side of Engine compartment.
the EGR VSV on left side of the angine.

Are a Small selenoid with 2 small hoses and one connector of 2 wires.

Ok.. But I recomend get the Vehicle SCANNED for get the right codes.
You can go to some autoparts, Advance, Autozone, Napa, Pepboy's,
They scan your vehicle with no charge , is just a complementary service.
With the Codes you will FIX or REPLACE the right part.

OK... I hope this hlep on your problem.
If you need more information I will able to help.
Thank you for use fixa..

Just got my 96 chrysler twn&country smogged failed due to pvc hose, vacuum line broken & tapped also because a code came up p1294 they couldn't tell me the reason does anyone know what this code means?

First repair o replace all the vacuum leaks. Then 1294 is for idle air control not reached. Caused from the vacuum leaks. Also clean the throttle body and IAC motor. Inside of it.

CODE PO441 DODGE INTRAPID 2002 EREPAIR

Here is the definition of the code.
Possible causes are a defective gas cap or a leak in the vent system.

P0441 DODGE Description The vapor pressure sensor, Voltage Solenoide Valve (VSV) for EVAP, Voltage Solenoide Valve (VSV) for canister closed valve (CCV) and Valve Solenoide Valve (VSV) for pressure switching valve are used to detect abnormalities in the evaporative emission control system. The ECM decides whether there is an abnormality in the evaporative emission control system based on the vapor pressure sensor signal. Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0441 is recorded by the ECM when there is a malfunction in either the VSV for EVAP, the VSV for pressure switching valve, or in the vapor pressure sensor itself, or when evaporative emissions leak from the components within the dotted line in Fig. 1 below.

The ECM closes the CCV and opens the VSV for pressure switching valve causing vacuum to increase in the entire EVAP system. The ECM continues to operate the VSV for EVAP until the vacuum is increased to a specified point at which time the ECM closes the VSV for EVAP. If the vacuum did not increase, or if the vacuum increased beyond the specified limit, the ECM judges the VSV for EVAP and related components to be faulty.

96 ford Taurus. took it in for smog and failed, code said we needed to replace the camshaft position censor, so we did. it ran a little better. took it back in after 50 miles and now getting the p0302 code...

Codes do not tell you what to replace.
The cam sensor most likely was okey

PO302--as you said, is a misfire on cylinder #2,work on that problem
Spark plug wire,bad coil pack,etc.

Seek professional help,it will be quicker, cheaper in the long run, and they can verify it will pass inspection.

OBD Codes and check lights, only indicate a possible system malfunction
Then you need the knowledge, to diagnose the system ,and find the cause of the MIL Lamp being on

Hello my 2000 toyota echo's check engine light is on and it is reading error codes po440,po441,po446 I was told it is something with the emissions what is the problem

It's probably the 02 sensor (technically dealing with the exhaust) which will make it fail emissions. I have been told it may also be a dirty mass air flow sensor, which is located in the same housing as the air filter box. I am having the same problems myself, and the car is hesitating and has no power.

Check engine light came on my 2002 Rav 4. Auto Zone diagnostic code PO446. How should I fix?

Chances are, it's going to be either 1 of the 3 switches that need replacing, a new gas cap or a new charcoal canister. The 2 switches under the hood are the VSV for CCV and VSV for EVAP. The one at the canister itself is the VSV for VSP. This VSV for VSP typically goes bad before the other 2 switches do. Plus, the switches are much cheaper than a new canister. (BTW, VSV stands for vehicle switching valve.)

PO446 is an evap canister code

replace the pvc valve and have the egr valve replace.make sure the vacuum hoses connect to egr valve and pvc replace.change air filter.all those things will cause high emission if not working properly.cause you to fail smog test.

High hc

you may need replace the catalytic converter, but 1st do this, clean the throttle body and idle airbypass valve, change the oil before the retest as well, get it as hot as you can before the test, hold it at a high idle prior to the test, this may squeak you by, as a 20 year smog tech these are the thing I did, if all else fails do the cat conv.
