When I put it in to gear it is like every gear (but reverse and second) is stuck in drive. I step on the gas and it wants to go forward even in neutrual.I really need help trying to figure out what is wrong with it. Please help me out.
Check your shift cable it may be stretched or broken.Located on drivers side of tranamission.Have someone else shift thru the gears while someone looks at the shift lever on the side of the transmission to see if it shifts into and out of all of the gears. If it shifts in and out of all the gears then the cable is good and you have a internal problem. If it does'nt shift in and out of all gears then replace the shift cable.

Thanks Ricky! I did what you said and it shifts through all the gears and we changed the filter and put in new fluid. I am in the process of pulling a transmission out of another blazer. Just with the cold wheather setting in; it is hard to find anyone to help me out. I am just hoping the one that is being pulled is in good condition. I pulled the ****** pan off the one I am pulling out and the fluid looks ok and there are only a few metal shavings. The guy at the junk yard said it looks ok. So as it stands that is where I am at right now. Thanks for your help. I really apprecitate it. I am hoping to have it fixed and on the road soon. Would have had it doen already if the guy who said he would help me get off his a$$ and do what he said he would do. Being a woman I really do nto know too much about transmissions. I can do the normal tune-ups and changing of fluides but there are some things that I am not to sure. Between watching videos on you tube, reading instructions, and asking a friend of mine what and how to do it; I have been able to get most of the bolts needed off the ******. Now a friend of mine is helping me with the rest. =) Thanks for your help. I will let you know what happens.
I was wondering if it could be just the brain of the transmission that is bad? What do you think?
Sounds like to me you have a faulty control solenoid. Before pulling the transmission i would replace the control solenoid because it controls the shifting and for less than $40 at www.rockauto.com could save you alot of headaches pulling the trans.
I will try that out. Yes it would be a lot easier than pulling out a transmission totally. Ugh!! If I knew it was going to be a big headache like this I would have never purchased the vehicle. But for only $300 and it is in awesome shape inside and out; I could not beat it. Especially I need a bigger vehicle than the one I have now because I transport my mother around all the time and my kids so I am trying to upsize to something bigger and better but feel as I am getting knocked right back down all the way around. I really appreciate all your thoughts and insights on this.
