Why do all break lights quit working?

If the high mount brake light goes out also, replace the brake switch at the brake pedal. If it always works, replace the turn signal switch.

I was told by a local car shop that in order to fix the High Mount Brake Lamp (brake light is out) that I would need to replace the entire unit. One year ago it cost me $172.03 to replace the entire unit....

HOW DO I CHANGE THE BULB FOR THE HIGH MOUNT STOP LIGHT?

From the Owners Manual

Here's what the Owners Manual has to say about the high-mount brake light replacement:

  1. Pry the light assembly away from its housing and push rearward to disengage it from the retaining clips.
  2. Lift the front of the light assembly from the parcel shelf
  3. Disconnect the light assembly wiring and replace the light assembly.

The high mount stop lamp not working while two brake lights stay on while driving.

There will be a switch on the the brake pedal. Gently move it back and forth. If the lights stay on this will have to be replaced. Then replace the third brake light bulb.

Rear brakes on 2005 ford 500

On my Chevy, I use a prybar between the rotor and the caliper to retract it a little, once it's off, I use a 6-in. C-clamp to fully retract it.
Make sure the reservoir doesn't overflow!
