Have you had the battery tested?? Kragen and other parts stores do this for free, if the battery is ok look for a draw.

Check you boot is closed properly as the boot light stays on (and you cannot see it) and it drains the battery overnight

Thebattery will rejuvinate overnight. Sometimes just enough to start the car. But have it checked anyway. Preventitive medicine now saves a cash cow later.

Sounds like your altenator. Take the vehicle in or just take in the alternator and have it checked for proper voltages. The alternator should be delivering 14.5 volts when running over 1200 rpm. If not then the vehicle will use up the battery power until flat. A tell tale sign is the front head lights brighten and dim with the revving of the motor. To continue running off the battery itself will eventually kill the battery.

Is your car somewhere where you can sit in the car and see the headlight beams? Put the headlights on and turn the key. If the headlights go dim like a glow worm, your battery is flat.

That can be caused by a few things.
Something electrical left on in the car. Charge it up, or get a jump.
Faulty battery. New one.
Worn out battery, they last 5 years. New one.

You say it worked 2 weeks ago? That makes me believe that your battery is flat and worn out. For a few quid, you can get a battery charger at Halfords, and if you are going to be leaving the vehicle for extended periods, you might like to invest in a battery maintainer. These connect to the battery and provide a small tickle charge to keep the battery topped up. They use little power.

If the headlights stay bright, then the solenoid or starter is at fault. You will need one or the other replaced.

2005 Cobalt 2 new alternators plus new battery in 1 week battery light just came on

If you paid the dealer to diagnose the problem, I would take it back and tell them to test it again on their dime.
You may have a problem in the wiring or other component in the car that is not letting the alternator charge the battery.

The 12 volt battery(LUCAS 065/3) on my FORD FIESTA 1100cc is 4 years old, in that time i have only driven 1,600 miles as my journeys are usually very local. I make sure i use the car twice a week to keep...

Running so few miles has accelerated the aging of the battery - the battery never had a chance to fully recharge in such small trips -  so now you have to replace it a year sooner than usual.
Just replace it.

LOW BATTERY CHARGE ON NEW BATTERY-2000 kia Sephia

i would take the belt off and then check the idler pulley assembly..it could be worn out..since the belt is off check the alternator pulley for any play also. A loose belt will not help the battery to keep a charge. if everything looks o.k. and you said you have a new battery and belt then it looks like your alternator went bad. Hope this helps.

Battery going flat on car daewoo leganza 1997

hi for a battery to go flat means your altenator isn't doing its job in charging it. all cars are different but it has to charge at a certain rate in order to keep it going. if the charge rate is very low then yes the battery wont last. if alternator is ok then possibly a wirring fault somewhere.

Car won't start. Makes a sizziling or "zzzz" noise when key is turned on.

Had car checked again at dealership. They stated they checked the charging system and battery would not hold a charge. Found a bad cell in the battery. The alternator was working fine. Battery replaced. Car has been starting fine since battery replaced.
