Really the difference in octanes is a matter of what chemicals are added to the fuel. common theory is that higher the octane the better it burns thus increasing horspower. now most coventional fuels have detergents and inhibitors to remove ,water vapor, minute dirt particals, this allows for better burning which translates into better efficiency and more power. the octane rating is based on how much it's refined and the ratio of residual componants left in the refined fuel. you can ru n 91 octane or the 87 with the ethanol blend which is 10% grain alcohol. or you can even run the the 93 octane however this would most likely be a waste because your vehicles rpm range is too low for this fuel to be of any help to the performance of your vehicle. hope this helps you. please rate this

You can run 87 octane but here is how it works, when you run lower octane fuel the computer retards the ignition timing to keep the engine from knocking and causing damage to the pistons, this puts a big dent in fuel mileage and upper end power, the trade off is not worth the reduced cost, what if you do damage a piston, what will that cost to repair?

Octane is the rate at which gasoline burns, low octane burns faster than high octane.

Seems like you replaced everything on the ignition but the cap. Sounds like a good place to look to me.
Look for burn marks around contacts.

Oil not commimg out ot the rocker arms one side seem to have been running hot

Sounds like its never had an oil change and got clogged up, best thing to do is use an engine flush see if that clears the oil ways. I have just put some diesel fual through my oil before that works really well and will not damage your engine, run the car for about 10 mins half oil half diesel then drop the oil, put some cheap oil in run it again for 10 mins drop the oil and then put some good oil in it.

seems that you might have some water in the gas tank. get some gas dryer and pour in the tank. 2 half pint bottles should do to a half tank of gas. good luck.

Coming home and engine stalled at stoplight. started back up drove home, it wanted to stall at every stoplight. When it almost stalls and you accelerate it sputters. it has 65k miles.

It sounds like the vacuum line has a hole if you stop at the light and you have to hold the gas down a little to keep it going that is one problem it could be.
