Question about 1995 Jeep Wrangler

95 rio grande won't turn over

I have a 95 wrangler R.G and it won't start. when i try to crank it, there is sometimes a very quiet clicking sound that happens once every time i turn the key. sometimes though, it doesn't happen at all. i have tried jumping the car, letting it sit for a while to get enough charge, and nothing. the lights, heater, interior light all still work so i assume the battery isn't dead although maybe in intensive care. any ideas?????

More than likely its the starter....you may try tapping on it with a hammer..but if this works get it replaced soon

very good post, few like it.
this is the starter free spinning
the solenoids job is the engage the teeth the fly wheel (ring gear)

the pinon shaft in starter is dirty, clean it (easy fix)
bad starter solenoid. get a new starter , most solenoids cost more.

Try checking the battery and battery leads. Sounds as though you have a bad battery. Also check your fuses under the hood and dash.

I have a 95 jeep rio grande that i can't keep running. It acts like its not getting fuel so i changed the fuel pump in the tank. It turns over but nothing, it will start if i spray stuff in the air box but...

I'm assuming the filter was replaced also and the fuel pump is actually powering up. Have you tried to pull a trouble code??? This is done by turning the key to on (not start), then off, then on, then off, then on and leave it on and count the blinks on the engine light on the dash. The first series of blinks before the pause is the firsr digit, after the pause, the second series of blinks is your 2nd digit. Pay attention, you may have more than one code. Reply back with results by clicking on the comment link on the upper right side of the page, and I'll see what we can do.

My 05 grand cherokee limited/hemi won't start, just clicks once.

95% of the time that means you need a starter, trying smacking it with a hammer while someone cranks the key

2005 RIO MOTOR JUST QUIT GOING DOWN THE ROAD. SOUNDS REALLY QUIET TRYING TO START IT

Sounds like your timing belt has broken. The engine is quiet when trying to start because it has lost compression.

95 Jeep Wrangler wont start

Listen, You need a new computer. Those are your relays clicking. There is no signal from the relays going to your computer to tell the Jeep to turn on. Cause your computer is broke. Check online for the best price. I bought mine from autozone.
