Question about GMC Envoy

I have a 2005 Denali it rides very bumpy. I seem to feel every bump in the road. Also it has lots of wind noise on the highway. Are there any corrections for these problems.

If there is wind noise it's most like due to your door seals or window seals not fitting properly. your vehicle is only 3 years old so i don't think they are dry rotted so maybe they just aren't sealing good. a good way to take care of this is to wipe them down with mineral oil. this will keep them soft and that way they seal real good to the metal surface. as far as the bumpy ride it would seem that perhaps your shocks or struts are weak they keep the wheels on the road where springs keep the body off the frame and axles. hope this helps please rate this. thanks.

I heard something snap and then noticed that the rear of the car drives very bumpy

Can you provide more info? Did you hit a bump? What do you mean by 'drives bumpy?' Does it ride rough, or does it go up and down a lot after you hit a bump, or something else? Can you further describe the snap you heard, and what was going on when you heard it and immediately afterward (e.g., driving 40 mph on a paved road, hit a pot hole, heard a loud 'breaking' sound as if something snapped/broke, and the ride of the car seemed to immediately change to being more harsh/rough)? Have you had any work done recently, such as tires changed or rotated, struts replaced, wheel alignment, or brakes replaced? Did anything else change (e.g., now when you hit a bump, you hear a new noise in the rear)? Were you carrying anything heavy in the trunk or back seat? I had a '99 Corolla for several years, and had zero problems other than a worn out driver's door handle and a couple of cracked windshields. Great car choice!

Truck doesn't hold the road on bumps. Turning on bumpy road at highway speed causes the truck to skitter. Shocks have been replaced. Ball joints?

the caster needs to be checked as well as loose steering components too much negative caster will cause this also too much air in the tires

I have a nissan altime 2005 4 cylinder. The other day while I was driving on a bumpy road it seemed like it was not getting gas. It was jolting a bit, but when i got on the highway it stopped so i thought...

Hi there,
your problem could have been caused by many reasons. The bumps might have little to do with it. I would advise you to take your car to the garage and have a car repairman look at it. As it is a car, you have to take this step early to avoid spending more on its repair.

Front suspension noise-dull rattle-thumping sound,bumpy roads

look at the front lower engine mount. I had similar noise which has been driving me nuts, thought may be thesway bar links, put it on friends hoist and saw that the front engine mount (mounted to bottom of lower radiator support) was cracked and the rubber bushing inside very worn with pieces missing. odd thing is that reving, or putting into gear never caused it to make a noise, just certain bumps. I ordered part from Autozone, hopefully it gets here before the holiday week end is over.
Good luck

When I go down a bumpy road the back end feels like its going to come apart but when I travel the expressway it is smooth sailing . this is a chevy malibu 2005.

Hi,
You might have your exhaust system checked to see if it's secured well or if it has excessive movement and is bumping against the body. Maybe a simple adjustment.
Hope this helps... Good luck!

Saab 93 - noisy when going over bumps on the road.

Have you tried driving over a bump whilst also applying the brakes? (Right foot on gas, left gently on brake - with no one behind you!) If the noise goes away, then it could be the brake pads that are not fitted correctly. Only posting this, as this just happened to mine...the mechanic took it over bumps and noise was there. Applied brakes whilst going over bump, noise went away. Replaced badly fitted rear pads (had been bodged by another garage) and the problem was solved.

96 Golf 2.0GTI 8v knocking noise from rear when accelerating

its probably your bump stops. the vw ones are very soft. i bought ford escort (the shape after the xr3) ones and cut them a little down to fit. i think the noise is either your shock touching or the sound of the tire scraping the body of the car. hope this helps.
