1990 ford ranger 2.9 wont start. No power at solenoid s terminal. What is it?

Check engine compartment fuse box FUSE 1 60 amp. If it checks ok then a failure of either the ignition switch, transmission range switch, or a break in any of the interconnecting wires.

Would using a 80 amp fuse instead of a 60 amp fuse in a 1993 Geo Metro cause problems with the starter?

It shouldn't be. The starter is going to pull as many amps as it needs. The fuse is to protect the wiring and keep the car from catching fire in case the starter fails and tried to pull more current than it should. That being said you need to change it back. 80 amps is 33% more current than what that circuit is designed to carry. Being that it's a 1993 you should probably be on your 3rd starter by now

1991 buick lasabre is burning out ignition switch fuses

Just for the record, its a 60amp not 60 watt.
I don't see a fuse that big in the fuse box inside the car, so I am wondering which fuse you are talking about.
Regardless, you would need to trace the circuit to look for a short to ground or a component problem.

I can start my car but my stereo , ac, auto windows, and gadges in my car wont work. but they work when my key is in acc mode. and my theft system light is on??? how do i fix this???

My guess would be the ignition switch itself since they are working in the axillary position. Never seen this happen personally, but has to be the problem. Don't know the model or year of car your working on, but if it's not a 60's model check your engine compartment fuse box or box's. Look for the ignition switch fuse's. On my GM car there are 2 60amp fuses that run the ignition on controls the starter circuit and the other controls the electrical system. Maybe not exactly how it works but would be worth popping the hood and taking a look at them.

I have a 1993 ford explorer, every time i turn the ke to the run position, it blows the ignition 60amp maxi fuse under the hood. The first time this happened, I replaced the fuse and the SUV ran fine for a...

I'm no expert but when you turn key to run position, this turns the fuel pump on if the pump is faulty i would think it would blow the fuse also. Or its your theory a short in the ignition system wiring.

30 amp ignition fuse in engine compartment blows at start

It sounds like a bad ignition switch or something is grounding out.Try to isolate the problem to key positions.See if the fuse blows when you turn the key to ACC(when your dash lights come on without starting)If the fuse does not blow then when you go to start it and it blows it could be one of many problems, the more common ones could be ignition switch, wiring, starter relay, starter soleniod,or perhaps the starter itself is shorting out, this can sometimes happen when a starter goes bad.
