Question about 1995 Chevrolet Camaro

How hard to replace fuel pump on 1995 camaro?

My son ran his 3.8 litre Camaro out of gas. I have told him that you should not let the gas get too low on fuel injected cars. Anyway, he ran out. We put a couple of gallons of gas in. It started up but after a few seconds it started idling very rough and then cut off. Now, it will not start.I have replaced the fuel filter along the drivers side frame. My next thing was try to replace fuel pump. I am pretty sure it is in the gas tank.

91 camaro ran out of gas and will not start now put six gallons of gas in it , and will start when it is primed but will not stay running does it take a while to pick up out of tank

Your fuel pump needs constant gasoline flow in order to stay lubricated.

People who often run their gas tanks to low levels force their fuel pumps to work harder, without the necessary oils in the gasoline to lubricate the bilge.

It sounds like you've burnt up your fuel pump.

Go to your local auto parts dealer and pick one up. You might want to consider also adding a fuel filter as well.

Sorry for your trouble and I hope this helps!

Where is my fuel pump at? on a 1995 chevy camero 3.4 yes ran the car out of gas put so in wont start now what should i do first

Your fuel pump is in the tank. Turn on the ignition, and listen if you can hear the pump run in the tank. It will only run a few seconds if the engine is not running. You can repeat this several times to prime the fuel injection.

My 1995 Camaro won't start- could it be the fuel pump?

Check your fuel filter. It's likely it plugged with debris from running it out of gas. I'd replace it.

Have a 95 Camaro Z28 LTI, after starting the vehicle it will run for about 2 min or so and then shut off. You have to wait about 15-20 min for it to start again. Tried spraying ether in the carburetor but...

First off, your Z28 does not have a carburetor. They haven't put carburetors on Camaros since 1984. Your Camaro is fuel injected and has a throttle body. You are having a fuel issue. You fuel pump is probably bad and or fuel filter is clogged. I am assuming you are not a mechanic so I would recommend taking this to your local repair shop to be fixed. They will have to drop the tank to get to the pump. You should also have your injuectors cleaned while you are at it.

1995 Camaro Hard start

it sounds like the check valve inside the fuel pump is bad. common on cheap or after market pumps. use a fuel pressure gauge and see if your fuel press drops back to zero. after the car is turned off. if the check valve is bad the fuel will leak back into the tank over a period of time. is the car hard to start all the time. or mainly after sitting a little while. if so this is your problem. good luck .
