Question about 1994 Volvo 850
I have a 1994 850 volvo. Recently after a heavy rain, it rain very rough and was misfiring and stalled when coming to a stop with the transmission in gear. If I put the car in neutral it seemed to run OK. My first thought was about replacing ignition wires but did not see any direct wires. Any thoughts to what may be the problem. Car has about 125000 miles but runs good otherwise.
Take some WD40 and spray it on the spark plug wires. If the problem goes away, then you have a bad wire/s. When it rains the moisture causes a misfire in the break in the wire. The WD40 disperses the water and give temporary relief. You can do this until you get a chance to change the wires. Once the car is running fine the problem should not come back since the heat of the engine will keep the wires dry.

It sounds as thou you have moisture in your distributor.Pull the distributor cap off and let the car sit and dry out for a couple of days and see if that fixes the problem.
