Came across this old post (6 weeks old), if u still need help: it sounds like the window lock button broke off in the lock position, so, no, it's not a coincidence.

2004 jeep liberty, window drive broken, fell down, now rear door is locked and cannot open inside or out

If your careful you can get the door panel out of the window trim at top with out breaking it. Hooter day is best to do it as the plastic panel is more pliable. Once out wedge it back some and pull the trim out. This will give you a good inch plus gap to work threw. Most like the cable has wrapped around it. Flash light to see it and bent coat hanger, long screw driver or bar. You should be able to get it open.

2004 avalon window lock switch not opening the 3 pasasenger windows

Is the light on that shows that the window lock is engaged ? How long has it been since the last time you open the other windows? If it has been awhile and the light is not on at the switch, they maybe stuck on the rubber. Smack them one at a time checking each one as you go, don't hit them to hard , they are hard to break. Maybe with the side of your fist around the edge.

Door locks not working, passager side windows not working, dome light on always.

sounds like a broken wire it is very common for them to break in the door hinge area normally more on the drivers side because it is opened the most flexing the wires in the door fold and the door light switch is in the latch and if the wire is broke to the switch in the latch the body control module thinks the door is open the whole time.the wires that power the passenger window have to come from the drivers master window switch. the door locks are the same way.

I have a 2010 Toyota Camry with a front passenger window problem. The window goes up and comes right back down sometimes when I push the button to roll the window up. The window will finally stay up...

Hello Susan..... What you are experiencing is the jam protection function: During automatic
closing operation, the window stops and opens half way if something gets caught
between the window and window frame. If the window receives a strong impact,
this function may work even if nothing is caught.

If the power window does not operate automatically or the jam protection function does not operate correctly, you should normalize the power window
To normalize the power window:
1. Push down the power window switch and lower the windows fully.
2. Pull up the switch until the windows close and hold the switch for a second. Make sure that the window open and close automatically. If the power windows cannot be operated properly, have it
checked by your dealer.

Why do my electic windows only work from the driver side in my 1998 jeep cherokee sport?

There is most likely a break in the connection on the passenger side wiring harness that runs thru the doors jam. Either a wire has broken or there is a bad connection at the module connector. This is a very common problem. Sometimes you can grab the harness, when the passenger door is open, an move it around and the door switch will start to work again. The best thing to do is pull off the panel and check the connection at the module window switch then proceed to the wires that are in the door jam, the ones that bend all the time when the door is opened and closed.

Passenger window operates intermittingly. When it

The problem could be in the master window switch on the drivers door, or the window motor could be going out, but most likely the cause is a broken wire inside of the weather boot that runs between the door and the body of the vehicle, and the broken wire is making intermittent contact because the door is being opened and closed all the time, and sometimes the wire will touch and make the connection and that is why it only works sometimes.

Try this the next time that the window stops working, hold the window switch down in whatever direction that you want the window to go (up or down) and while holding the switch in that position open and close the drivers side door and move or wiggle around the weather boot that contains the wiring that is between the door and the body of the vehicle, and do the same for the passenger side door, if the window starts working while you are holding down the window switch and opening and closing the door or moving around the weather boot between the door and the body of the vehicle, then there is a broken wire or even wires that will need to be repaired.

The broken wire can be on either the passenger side, or most likely on the drivers side, and if you do find a broken wire or wires, then you should repair the wires by soldering them well and use the same gage wire if you need to lengthen the wire to repair it successfully, and do not use a wire connector if you want the repair to last.

When you open the drivers door you can see a wiring harness between the door and the body of the car.
You more than likely have wires broken in there.
