Need a spare key for 1993 honda accord, does it have a chip in it?

the car is not recognising the key and is actuating the ignition cutoff (it starts then stops running straight away)try the spare key,if thats okay then you need to get the car/keys recoded as sometimes they do lose the ability to be recognised.

You can go to the dealer with the vin number and they can make you another key but you will have to show them proof of ownership.Hope this helps please leave comment

The 1990 honda accord key does not have a chip. You can get a replacement from walmart, home depot, lowes or any locksmith. It will cost you about $3.

you will need to get a spare key from a Honda dealer you will need to give them the VIN of the car
if you get just a spare key cut all it will do is unlock the door :(

He may have locked up the pin sequence. You might need to buy a new switch not that exspensive. Stay away from the dealership or it will be.

The security system in a honda has to recognize the ignition key. there is a chip in the key that sends a signal to the computer to turn off the security system. if that key has been dropped, thrown, or just used alot depending on the miles of the vehicle, the chip will no longer send that signal. unfortunatly you have to go to the dealer and buy a new key. Then they will have to program the key to corridnate with you car's computer.

Well you get the spare key from the Dealership ,wal mart or any other places were it has the facilities to program the keys for your car (inbuilt chip ) usually Honda can program the key with hand held device and they charge $100 or hour labor charge .........Hope this information help you .....
