Supercharged 3.8 I just got done replaced head gaskets on my 2001 buick regal supercharged 3.8.I got the head rebuilt and got all new gaskets the whole nine yards. Once I got the engine back together and started it, it idled fine. Once i get to 2000 rpms. the engine bogs down real bad then eventually dies. Any suggestions on what could be causing this?

Could be a plugged catalytic converter or a plugged fuel filter, run an exhaust back pressure test, any muffler shop will do this, most times for free, the other thing to do is have the fuel pressure tested under a load, also clean the MAF sensor, a little dirt on the sensor wire wrecks havoc, You didn't leave anything in the intake runners did you? have seen seasoned technicians do this more than once.

95 riviera 3.8 supercharged wants to surge up and down constantly at idle, but runs well at 1000 rpm and up, also seems to have a slight rattle in supercharger

Yeap your describing a supercharger bearing failure it'll lock up after a while, It can be rebuilt with new bearings but the directions aren't known to me as I've just replased the whole unit. The intake and waste gate gaskets van blow too and you can find the leak with wd-40 or carb spray as when you hit the leak it'll change the way it runs. You may also need to remove the crankcase vents and stop them up to see if you have a leak to the crankcase ( intake gasket leak) The normally assperated engine did this quite alot but theirs few less supercharged ones and I've only changed blown bolwers that won't turn and the cases were so scared up that they could'nt be rebuilt. Oriley shows a unit in thier Knoxville warehouse and it's rebuilt. Find the rattle and fix it and you'll save a ton of money as the repair may seem expensive but the new charger will set you back much more and the work is about the same.

2001 buick regal w/ bad ignition coil and clogged catylitic conv.

Hello! The defective ignition coil more than likely contaminated the downstream O2 sensor...If there isn't a trouble code and engine performs in a normal fashion, there's no reason to change the upstream sensor...

It sounds like loose debrie in supercharger what could it be on a 99 regal and how can i fix it every 10 to15 seconds makes this noise like acorns in there

This is simple!!! I had the same problem in my GS. The part is called the supercharger coupling. It is made of nylon and can't be bought from the dealer BUT can be found in Ebay for about $30. This is a NEW part for the Eaton M90 supercharger. That is all it is!! The holes in the coupling wear slightly oblong creating a little bit of slop and it sounds TERRIBLE.

Be careful with the sealing surfaces behind the supercharger snout, reseal with a gasket maker (Loctite makes some) and refill with the correct fluid.

Supercharger leak on 2001 buick regal gs

maybe it has too much supercharger oil in the supercharger , that maybe be true what they say , it can be taken out , it should take two 4oz bottles, check your supercharger oil level, too much of it is not a good thing, overflow? it should take only the amount that is required, so dealership should know that
