Engine stalls

The probable reason for engine stalling can be overheating.
The engine can be overheated due to many reasons and their remedies are listed below:
1. Insufficient coolant and water in radiator - Refill the coolant and water in reservoir
2. Radiator fan not working as needed - Loose connections, faulty fan
3. Damaged hoses and pipes - Replace hoses and pipes
4. Clogged pipes - Clean them

Temperature sending unit location

Hi there:
Coolant temp sensor is actually under the hose that goes from the radiator to the engine. The hose kind of loops around the power steering module.

You will probably have to take off the metal connector which connects the hose to the engine to get to the temp sensor (mine has 2 torx / star bolts) because even after taking the hose off, it's almost impossible to get to, but if you take off the metal piece, it will be very easy to get to.

Now, the temp sensor is the little bolt looking thing with a wire going into it just below.

Hope helps.

Coolant temp sensor tacoma 3.4

It is on the left front of the engine. You will have to remove the upper radiator hose, upper timing timing belt cover and the fuel crossover pipe to get to it.

With that said, coolant temp sensor failures are pretty rare...why are you looking for it?

Hi, I think you're on the right track. Here are instructions from autozone.com:

3.2L & 3.5L Engines
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain engine coolant from the radiator and engine.
  3. Disconnect radiator hose from the inlet pipe.
  4. Remove the thermostat housing, then remove the thermostat (2).

To install:
  1. Install the thermostat into the outlet pipe (4) making sure that the air hole is in the up position.
  2. Install thermostat housing and tighten the bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
  3. Attach the radiator hose to the inlet pipe.
  4. Refill the engine with the proper type and amount of coolant.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
  6. Start engine and check for coolant leakage.

2002 dodge 1500 Changed radiator, thermostat, and hoses. No heat

Why was radiator replaced?Did it have heat before ? If it was plugged, the heater core may also be plugged. Try flushing it with a water hose in both directions. I dont know why the botton radiator hose would be cold, the radiator should be a uniform temp and the air coming through the radiator should be HOT, when the engine is at operating temp. What condition was the old coolant? if it was rusty, the water pump may have lower flow than normal.
