Car will not start. Dash lights come up when key is turned, but are dim. When turning the key, there is no sound or click. Battery was tested at and confirmed to be fully charged. What is wrong?

Check the battery like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car.
If the headlights do not dim or go out, then the battery is likely ok.
Check that the battery cable plus post, goes to the starter, Minus post to a good ground, like the engine.
If wiring is ok, then look at the starter solenoid for a good connection.
Problem is most likely the Solenoid or starting relay, whichever the car uses.
Hope this helps.

Have you tried jumping the car yet? What have you tried so far? I would get someone to jump it real quick. Theres other ways to see if battery is dead but a quick way is to get a jump then tell us what happens. Good luck-

The first thing to do is have the battery checked and the battery cables, repair any problems found like cable corrosion.

My 2004 Neons electical system pulsates. Headlights, dash lights, etc all go slightly from bright to dim. Occasionally all the gauges will flutter rapidly. Seems to idle too low at stop lights 5-600 rpm)...

hi it sounds like it could be your alternator i think you call them generators in the US, try testing it with a volt meter, connect it to the battery and start car, if it puts out 13 to 13.5 volts on idle and 14 to 14.5 volts when you rev the engine it is ok, anything under that or even over that meens that it is faulty hope that helps

My 1998 Isuzu Rodeo does not start. Sometimes is clicks when I try to start it and sometimes it doesn't do anything. The dash lights are very dim and the door lights are dim. The headlights don't come on...

From what you described this surely sounds to me like an extremely weak or dead battery.A simple battery install and a charging systems check should do the trick.Any other questions please get back to me.Thx..

Probably a stupid question, but does the car start? Have you checked the battery for proper voltage? (and charge rate). Other than that, I'd suspect a poor ground somewhere causing excessive resistance & draw on that system.(headlamps draw far more than dash lights so power is used up there first)
