Question about 1997 Acura TL Series

CAR ALARM DEACTIVATION

I recently purchased a 1997 acura. the security system is controlled by the key remote. the key remotes are so old that they seldom work. any attempt to unlock thee door results in the alarm going off and the car will not crank. Is there any easy way (i.e. a fuse) to deactivate/disable the factory secuity system. they tell me I can no longer get electronic key replacements for this model.

If the car only has a factory system, then you only need to insert the key to unlock the door to turn the alarm off. There should be a red light on the door panel that blinks and that should show you it's off, not sure try turning the key on the door twice. If it's aftermarket, get a replacement unit.

Security System has locked. Car will not start.

Try locking and unlocking the car with the key and not the remote. Sometimes this will disengage the alarm.
