It sounds like the throttle position sensor (TPS) needs to be replaced. When the TPS sensor goes bad it will give you the codes you received.

Check engine light on

erase code again , then disconnect battery for a few minutes, reconnect, see if code comes back. hopefully this resets computer. you don\'t have a reset button on steering wheel do you ? replace your fuel filter, if you haven\'t lately. maybe that will help.

The engine light came on took it to auto zone had it diagnosed, said to either change the thermastat or coolant sensor, did both, engine light stayed off for one week now its back on

Check the coolant sensor plug to make sure its connected securely. If that doesn't fix it then take it back and have them recheck the code. Hope this helps!

I have a 2006 Pontiac G6; 4 cylinder...the check engine light is on and I need to get it off for my emissions test so I need help finding out what the problem is. Ive had the car put on the scanner twice...

when you changed the parts did you have the codes cleared ? as if the comp stored it then it will return and when you put new parts on it took the comp time to test and display new changes.

My check engine light just came on and my local Auto Zone diagnosed it as a problem with the valve intake. Any information on what the problem could be?

That is very vague. The exact code they gave you would be much more helpful. Get the code read again and have them print it out for you and post the code here. BTW, there are no codes that list the intake valve in the engine computer. This is why I need the code you got.

Got numerous "tighten gas cap" messages. finally

computer is seeing a large evap leak. most common cause is gas cap left loose this is why it is throwing up that message. since you have already done that we know there is a leak somewhere else. look underr vehicle and should see a black rectangular box close to gas tank this is the evap canister check the lines hooked to this and just do a visual inspection of hoses see if one has come off. may need to have it checked out we have a machine that hooks into system and pressurizes with "smoke" the smoke leaks out of the problem area and helps diagnose .

Engine light just came on took to auto zone they gave me this code PO304 Trying to see what it is

A P0304 OBD2 code is "cylinder #4 misfire detected". The first place to start is your spark plugs. 1. Check condition and for wear. 2. check the spark plug wires or coil packs(depending on which you have).

Coolant sensor was replaced still get check engine light

If the code in the ecm isn't cleared then it will come back. Have them clear all codes and see if it persists.
