You don't have a short, you have a battery drain, check the glove box light and trunk lights and any other light that might be staying on, hood, console etc.

Car battery keeps dying

Myguess is that you have an electrical short which is causing a drain on the battery. The way to check this is to get a 12 v test light. Unhook the negative side of the battery. Hook the test light up between the negative battery post and the battery cable. If the light comes on, You have a short/drain. To find where the short is, you leave the test light hooked up. Then you start pulling fuses until the light goes out. However, your car stereo needs to be completely unhooked before you do this test because most stereos have a constant electrical source so that the clock stays accurate and the memory stays active so your programed stations don't get lost. Just shut off the care returned 2 hours later no go got a boost went for a drive left the car running for awhile than it start to get like it was going to stall went on g=for a littlwe while than died....

Hi your problem sounds like the battery is gone and won`t take a charge. When your engine is running the alternator is supplying the electrical power to run the car ( and normally charging the
battery as well )
Even though it seems strange for the battery to go suddenly, it does happen.
How old is the bat. Most last about 5 years with normal driving ( batterys last longer if the car is used every day )
Anyway i hope i have been of some help to you.

I'VE PUT A NEW BATTERY IN MY MALIBU BUT IT DIES EVERY 3-4 DAYS? I HAVEN'T YET CHECKED THE ALTERNATOR TO SEE IF IT'S THE PROBLEM.

Assuming battery cables and connectors are clean and tight, a failing battery is almost always due to a bad alternator. Other less likely causes are:
  • Bad starter~will start car when cold but not hot
  • Short circuit~takes 1-3 days to drain a fully charged battery depending on where the short is
Bring the car to one of the major chain Auto Parts stores that feature free testing. Most will do a complimentary check of the alternator. A quick check you can do yourself is to start the car, turn on the headlights and AC and very carefully, while the car is running, disconnect the negative battery cable and keep it away from the frame. If the car stalls while the cable is disconnected, you've isolated the problem and need to change the alternator.

Car has to be jumped frequently, multiple batteries, and dies when driving

I hesitate to suggest this, but it does work well. After you start the engine, and while running. Unhook the negative battery cable. If the vehicle stalls, you have a bad alternator.
