Removing Door Panel for MPV with door Stuck

Hi There - hoping you can help me.  My wife's 2003 MPV's driver side door is stuck.  It seems to be the exact problemt that you said you have experienced with the rusty lock mechanism.  Can you tell me how you removed the door panel without being able to open the door.
You assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I just fixed this same problem. It happened to me 3 different times in a month so I got good at it. Before you dive into removing your door try this. Pull the door handle and release it letting it snap back several times. The problem is a half open door latch that won't let the door unlock. Do this as aggressively as you can to attempt to get the latch to return to its original position. Check the door lock between flicks.

Ok, if that didn't work, here is how to remove the door.
1. Remove the screw behind the door latch, you will have to pop the plastic cover off first.
2. Remove the rubber insert in the door handle
3. Remove the screw that is now visible
4. Now remove the window/lock control module, the back is free but the front has a plastic lip so lift the back up and pull towards the back of the van.
5. Remove the clips that attach to the lock and to the window controls (these can be a pain)
5. (Optional) Remove the bracket that held the window/lock control module

At this point your door is basically free, it is only held in place with plastic clips that can be easily forced off. If your door were open you would simple pull the bottom of the door out (hinged at the window) and lift it off. But since we can't pull because the door is closed we have to force it out.

From here it is pretty simple. Move the seat all the way back and tip the seat way back. Lift the door panel straight up. You will be breaking 2 plastic clips from the rear part but once you do it just pulls out. This is not that easy because the space is limited but just keep pulling and force the rear end of the door panel past the b-pillar. Once you do this it is free.

Have fun and try to keep the black gook from getting everywhere.

Oh, to fix the door lock just oil/grease it and manually move the mechanism several times.

How do I get the armrest off drivers door,to put in new window control on a 2003 aztek

Hi Anonymous

There is discussion here about removing the door panel on an Aztek - see the 2nd or 3rd discussion bloc down
http://aztekfanclub.com/upholsterymods-interior/removing-interior-door-panels

there is also an older Fixya thread here talking about removing the panel
How do remove the drivers side door panel on an aztek Depending on how much of a hurry you may be in, I've found that the tools for being able to pop the plastic pop-fasteners in car panels have a much higher batting average than screwdrivers in removing the fasteners without breaking them. See for instance many choices on eBay door panel removal tool , and the same sorts of things, marked up a lot more, can be found at most any auto parts store.

Hoping that helps, and Happy Holidays!

How do I remove driver side door window

You need to remove inner door panel by unscrewing the screws on inner door handle and take a flat screw driver wedge it between the panel and door use flash light to see the clips along the sides and lower part of door and pry them free. then look through the inner door cut outs to find window track. Once you see it use ratchet or screw driver and loosen the window free form track. Then carefully remove window.

My wife is stuck at the airport. the key fob on

On the driver's side door handle, there is a cap covering the key hole on the right side. On the bottom of the cap is a small ****. Use the valet key to pry it up and off. Then you may open the door, most likely sounding the alarm, so you will need to insert the remote in the ignition to stop the NOISE!!!! Hope this helps. This is how I lock my remote away when I go somewhere to run.

My car key is stuck in the driver's side door (VW new Beetle).

I assume you have tried juggling and turn ing the key and pulling all at once>>> Type in the security code for the auto locks on the driver door panel it should release the security device in the lock that holds on to fradulent keys (some models have this some dont) if this doesnt work , try unlocing and locking the door using the controls in the car and pulling on the key to try and remove, if the key wont trun any directions remove door panel locate the locking mechinism and use a flat head screw drivce to turn the lil dial o nthe back side to and try to remove the key.. If none of these work, pull really hard straight back dont bend key on lock as it will break off!! becarefull and goold luck.....
hope this will fix'ya

Broken door lock on a 2003 honda civic

There are retaining screws around the handle and the door release handle. The screws may be covered with plastic circle cover. Take those out and just start pulling the plastic panel away from the door gently yet firmly. Once you get the panel loose lift up on the panel to get it off the door.. be careful or wires that may be connected to the panel when you take it off the door.
