Hi Mate, I got the same problem with my C250 TD, it all started when I changed the diesel filter and run the car on nearly empty tank. Steps to fix long starting trouble
    1. Fill up the tank full
    2. Take the car upto 5000 RPM (20 seconds)
    3. In morning turn on/off heater 5 times and then start it without problem

This works for me atleast !!Never let your tank go below 1/2 tank!!!

the only permanent solution to your problem is to replace ALL the O-rings on the injection pump fuel lines. Don't forget the one behind the fuel cut-off valve as well..
This is the only soltion that really worked for me.

Glow plug light only stays on for a short time and hard to start in mornings 1996 toyota land cruiser prada

what country.? makers do use diffr. engines in diffr. countries.
what engine,(that be first on the list, to start)?
70 or 80 series LC>? just a hint.
the wiki list:
2.4 L 2L diesel I4
3.4 L PZ diesel I5
4.0 L 2H diesel I6
4.2 L 1HZ diesel I6
2.4 L 2L-T turbodiesel I4
2.5 L VM HR588 TD I5 (Italy)[15]
3.0 L 1KZ-T turbodiesel I4
3.4 L 13B-T turbodiesel I4
4.2 L 1HD turbodiesel I6
4.5 L 1VD turbodiesel V8

which one.?
then learn the injector and glow plug controls. (books)

the "basics of Diesel)

1 bad glow plugs? (lots of ways)(or power or controls)
2 weak compression (a cold engine need max here)
3 or bad fuel injection. (or no air supply, clogge air filter, or?)

to solve problems you can do simple tests.
it's all in the manuals.
if you learn what engine you have, you can get all that facts
you need by googling just that.
who knows, it might save you $15 buying a book.

It seems the sensor/switch on top of my 98 Turbo Diesel Vitara is playing up and cant find one any where to replace it. Can any one help ?

No displacement stated on the engine, wow, you make this hard.
or a challenge? like a rubicks cube with colors missing>?
JTD Marurit ( in 6 displacements)? are used all over.? seems not.

some Peugeot are rebadged JTD ! Look more careful at engine.
i googled the www, and can only find this message.
"In 1998, there became available models featuring 1.9-litre turbodiesel engines from PSA, built in Spain by Santana Motors, all of them were 4WD vehicles equipped with manual transmissions."
is your's a PSA engine? as you can see, finding out what
suzuki put in your engine bay, is not an easy task.
we are blind, only you can discover that, and keep records.
my wild guess, is 1.9 TD or 2.0 TD PSA..

we dont have diesels here stateside, 1998 to 2012 online parts shows none. (or is the zero support>? not sure ,nor care)

why not state what country you are in.? 56 engines world wide. (about 12 are diesels)
and why not ask SUZUKI for the part, they sell it?

why not buy the factory FSM ? with diesel supplement? book?
Suzuki uses non suzuki made diesels in many countries.
discover what engine it is, for sure, and actually.
and what injection system is used, names ,etc.

Diesel 1989 F-250 set too long and will roll over

You may have to bleed the fuel system. There may be a very small air leak in the fuel supply line and after a long time idle, the fuel seeps bac into the tank, leaving an air lock in the pipe. When you go to start, this air makes its way into your injection pump & needs to be bled out before the engine will start. Begin from your fuel filter bleed valve, next the injection pump using the primer pump to transfer the fuel. Next loosen off the injector pipes and crank the engine over until fuel sprays form all the joints. Tighten injector pipes and start. It may run a bit rough for to begin with, but will soon even out. If it doesn't start, repeat bleeding of injectors.

2000 F-250 7.3 diesel, cuts out runs rough no power

Well, you have to let diesels warm up before you drive them so the engine gets warm and it may not sound right at first because if its not warm the compression gets off and doesnt fire right. If you try to give it too much gas before its warm, extra diesel will get in the cylinders and misfire. Then when it does fire, there is a lot of extra fuel in it so that causes the smoke and smell. You should always let it warm up for a bit before driving when you havent driven it for a while.
