Question about 1990 Lincoln Town Car

1990 Mark Vii

My lincoln Mark Vii will not start. It cranks but seems not to get any gas.
I can only find one switch in the trunk which is a on/off switch. My car service guide shows another switch that may need reset but I can't locate it where the guide says it should be.

The switch on the right side of your trunk is the on/off switch for your air suspension. The switch for the fuel pump is on the left side of your trunk up near the hinges to the trunk lid. I have a 1990 Town Car and the swich is red.

Sounds like the fuel pump or a wire is off for the fuel pump or maybe filter is plugged

1988 lincoln mark vii my air ride compressor will not come on what could it be and why

There can be several reasons. The system will not activate unless all the door switches and the trunk switch indicate everything is closed. There are some fuses and Relays for the pump motor that can be checked. There is a cutoff switch in the trunk which is shut off for tire service and other things requiring lifting the vehicle.

Some of the better scanners can check the Air-lift system systems. You can call Autozone, Advance, or Oreilys to see if they have the better scanner to do this. Usually free at these brands.

I have a 1990 Lincoln Mark 7...only has 29,000 miles on it. Every now and then it will not start. It turns over..(new battery). Seems like its not getting fuel. What does the fuel cut off switch look like?...

Yes the on-off switch is for the air ride. The fuel cut-off switch should be labeled on one of the panels in the trunk. They hide it behind the panel, but give you a hole you can put your finger through to reset the button. If you have an owners manual, it will tell you exactly where to find it, but I'm thinking passenger side trunk, just below the trunk lid hinge.

I have a 1990 Lincoln Mark VII, the air ride was removed and now there is a short somewhere causing voltage regs to fry and draining the battery. We found a connection under the hood (passenger side) and...

after replacing the air system on your Mark, you should have turned the switch off in the trunk and left the air pump intact.....that way the system does not know that anything has been can then just remove the bags and tape off the lines.....basically it does not know when to air up bacause of no pressure changes....all of the electronics on the mark vii are tied togather in the wiring harness and the best thing to do is nothing...plug everything back up correctly and try to turn off the airbag system in the trunk and see if that helps..
