Nissan Armada Backup Sensor Switch switches to "OFF" automatically after being reset

My Backup Sensor Switch goes to "OFF" mode after the vehicle is started. It does not matter how many times you press that bottom, it does not want to go to the "ON" mode. In turn, this has not enable the system to warn when one is backing up. Does anyone know what this is and how to solve it?

I have the same problem. Mines started after I replaced the battery. I unplugged the battery to see if it would reset, no luck. What could be wrong?

Check out a post from jschoon77 nov 4 2008 i think it was under rss ( rear sonar system }. keep in mind under center console there is a micro-switch activated when shifter is in reverse. in my case too much coffee soda and beer got to that area over the years keeping my light on switch from even coming on. check that post out first. GOOD LUCK and MERRY XMAS RICKHEMI426

Why is Nissan armada vdc off and slp lights on

Most commonly is the battery was disconnected or was dead. When this happens, it will need the steering angle sensor reset and unfortunately this can only be done at the dealership using the consult 3 :-( I know this because I am a tech at nissan.

1996 Nissan Pathfinder v6 5 speed back up light switch position

The switch that controls the backup lamps on a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder looks completely different and is in a slightly different location depending on whether the vehicle is equipped with a manual or automatic transmission. However, in ether case, the switch is located on the transmission.

On the manual transmission it is called simply, "backup switch".
On the automatic transmission it is part of the "inhibitor switch". (also known as "neutral safety switch")

2008 nissan armada backup camera wont work

make sure your backup lights are coming on. if the backup lights are working when in reverse then most likely you have a bad camera or loose connection. also may want to check for power to the camera ( fuses/circut).

I paid $241.00 to reset the VDC computer and I still have the problem. Also my backup camera just stopped working. This is my last Nissan auto. I am pissed!!

I replaced the battery in my 2006 Nissan Armada and now the A/C only blows hot air. Is there something I can reset? Thank You

No matter how much you don't think this happens but when your heater is on the a/c also goes because it act's like a dehumidifier so in the winter when you crank the heat it takes the moisture out of the air to make things heat up faster, There will be a relay switch on the other side of the fire wall inside the cab that will either have a seperate fuse that you will need to change or you just have no connection to your switches on your dash. either way the best way to check it would be to take a volt/amp meter and check all your connections in your fuse box.

The rear power lift gate on my '05 Nissan Armada will not raise automatically, however it will shut with the button or key FOB. The Nav screen displays liftgate open and the door ajar light is on.

You most likely have a failed switch in the rear gate jamb. This switch tells the system that the gate is closed and if the system thinks that the door is already open, it will not open it again.

Have the Body Control Module (BCM) scanned for codes and live data with a scan tool capable of accessing this information. This will tell you if the switch is operational by manually operating switch while monitoring the switch state with the scan tool.

Any shop with a decent scan tool should be able to do this. Nissan dealerships use Consult-II and now Consult-III scanners and have access to stuff the aftermarket guys don't get, but this should be accessible by nearly any higher end scanner like a Snap On Ethos, Solus, or Modis.

Hope this is helpful!
