Question about 1994 Hyundai Excel
Hi. My car stalls all the time when idling or driving in low gear. Had it in the shop for 3 weeks and they can't fix it. Got them to replace crank sensors because i thought that was the problem. Ran great for 3 days and then started stalling again. It is a GX Twin Cam Hyundai Excel. Any suggestions?
You likely have broken pieces of catalyst in the exhaust getting wedged in the exhaust pipe just before the main catalytic converter. This will cause intermittent stalls when the vehicle is warm and sometimes will take 20 minutes to cool down before starting and driving properly a short distance. On my Santa Fe I cut the pipe near the catalytic converter, removed the broken catalyst, then had to replace the "front" catalytic converter.
