Re: Engine shut down
It all depends upon the time of the failure.
If it's after the car is fully warmed up and out of the blue it dies, but then you let it sit for a while and it starts up like there's no problem, I would check the Camshaft and/or Crankshaft Sensors. Most of the time when these fail there is no check engine light.
If it fails when you are trying to start it sometimes, then I would go for the Fuel Relay. Typically if it doesn't start, you can pull out the relay and tap it on its side on the ground, then reinsert it and try again. If it fires up, you've found your problem.

Could be a defect in the ECU. But 1000rpm is not that high my cars normal is 1000rpm. but some older models were about 700rpm
The AC rise is normal. You may want to have a OBD II check by your garage or you can buy a unit to do this. It will scan the sensors fitted for any problems.
it depends on what accessories you're running. If your vehicle has every electric option under the sun, you would want the higher output alternator. Same if you were running a high-output stereo or something like that. It all comes down to what you need.
The electrics in the Mercedes are notoriously flaky. A failing alternator would cause a low voltage condition that would cause the battery to run down but would not likely damage any of the computer modules. Have you REPLACED the fuses that protect the various fuel and ignition modules? Not just visually inspected, but REPLACED them? When I ran my Mercedes 123 series cars, I replaced all the fuses on Day One, regardless of how good they looked. Bosch fuses are known to corrode and cause intermittent problems similar to yours. If a fuse is overheating or the contacts are not good, a few minutes of driving could cause a problem that imitates expensive module failure.
It happened with my Mercedes and my Volvos that used Bosch fuses.
first question is after you changed your hose and refilled while the car was running with the radiator cap locked but loose with the heater on high and set on hot run the car till the thermostat opens shut the car down once it does anti freeze level will drop and air will rise and (extreme caution taken with drain pan below ) start the car use two people run it shut it down let air escape threw cap start again run a couple of minutes shutdown again let cool down take cap off restart car with cap off watch radiator level will somone lightly increases gas peddle refill level to top reinstall cap completely tight then let idle down some vehicles have a small bleeder mounted in the thermostat houseing or in line with the radiator circulation system
