Part is located on the passenger side of vehicle, between pulleys on the engine block. With short 4" - 5"wires coming from it wrapped in protective casing transversing the belt.

1996/97 only 3.0 liter v6. camshaft sensor is inside the distributor (removal required) the serial # was on the front of the block below head at #1 piston. The sensor ended up not being the problem. The water pump went out (locked up tight) thus shreading the timing belt.I purchased a" Haines "repair manual for $20 at a local parts store.A lot of bouncing from chapter to chapter(I found that stickey notes for book marks are very handy and help keep manual cleaner while working on vehicle.F.Y.I. the water pump (from a parts store) has to be split in half. The back side case is re-used.If you get it from the "dealer "It comes complete, saves time seperating ,cleaning, installing gasket and putting back together befor you can installit.Be prepared to become a contortionist while working on this particular vehicle.

Lift gate open warning light sounds when temp is below 60

sounds like the cold temps cause the metal door to warp which causes an increased distance to the sensor that tells the computer the lift gate is open. The lift gate sensors should be adjusted to be closer together.

I HAVE A 1999 Dodge Caravan, driving along 10mph engine stopped running, would not start after stopped. Replaced crankshaft, camshaft sensor, coil pack, fuel pump, checked fuses, relays, still no start,...

Did your Check Engine or Service Engine Soon light come on? If so, there is an error code (Diagnostic Test Code or DTC) stored in your Caravan's onboard computer. Have the code read and interpreted, and you can google the results to see which system triggered the code. If no light came on, you may want to check your fuel filter, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor and breaker points/inductive pickup (depending on how the engine is equipped). Other possibilities include carburetor or throttle body injectors malfunctioning. Many possible causes, but the DTC route is easiest to check. Good luck.

Temp sensor

I'm not a 100% but it sounds like your camshaft position sensor went bad then caused the other codes to come up because the camshaft position sensor tells the computer how much gas it needs. So it started a chain reaction with the fuel level sensor, fuel temperature sensor, and knock sensor codes. The Fuel temp. sensor helps the engine to know how much fuel to inject as well depending on the temp. of the fuel. The fuel pressure sensor senses the amount of fuel in the fuel rail by reading the internal pressure of the rail, so that's what leads me to believe that it's your camshaft position sensor. Particularly if that was the first code that came up. Hope this helps you.

We have an intermittent problem with the instrument cluster. You will be driving along and the entire cluster dies. No tach, no speedometer, no lights, etc. Usually within the next 3 or 4 times the van is...

This is a bad connection within the printed circuit of the instument cluster. It seems to be worse in higher temps, like being in the sun with the windows up for several hours. (I feel it should be a recall) Sometimes a firm tap on the face of the cluster will bring it back, but the only solution at this point is to repace the cluster.

1999 jeep cherokee laredo camshaft sensor location on engine

Your problem could very well be a crank sesor. The location of this is on the bell housing drivers side on top. I don't remember there being a camshaft sensor, unless your refering to the sensor in the distributor.
