I believe the 97 Montero is still with torsion bars? If so these may be tightened abit to raise the fron and and then new springs for the rear. However do do it properly I'd replace both the torsion bars and the rear springs. There are after market products out there which will give you @ 2" of lift without harming ride too much.
I hope this may have helped,
Tom

Check the cam position sensor and the crankshaft position sensor for loose connections or possibly a bad sensor. Run a diagnostic test to give you a better idea of which parts are faulty.

Yes, when removing the oil sump or pan, you have to re screw out the small bolts not fogetting the two engine moutings also must be free that you can lift the engine alittle up, doing that you will be safe from braking the oil strainer.

I have done a whole tune up to my montero and now it has a backfiring problem and now power to the pedal what so ever and i also see that the egr is being held open do you have anytips or advice to help me...

Thinking maybe you might have accendentally crossed the spark plug wires. Is it backfiring through the intake? If this is the case it is a timing issue for sure. I am an ASE cerified master tech and have done this many times and have no idea as to how I did it but it happens often to many people. Below I gave you a picture of the firing order for a montero sport for your year. The picture I gave you is for the 3.0 lter engine but if you have the 3.5 liter engine which that year came with also. it is the same so just use that picture as a refrence. I hope this helps and good luck.

We have a 95 mitsubishi montero. the car will

I'll check my information on adjustment of the neutral safety switch. In the meantime to access the fuel pump you'll need to take up the carpet (and some pad) in the back of the Montero. I believe there is an aluminum strip towards the back of it that will need to be removed, @ 4-6 screws I think. Once this is removed roll the carpet forward and look for an access panel on the floor of the truck (it should only be 2ft or so from the back gate over the tank. If you remove the access cover you'll see the access to the tank directly underneath it; in the end pretty easy to get to. I do believe the sending unit will be an assembly, the fuel pump can of course be seperated from. As fore mentioned I'll check further on the neutral safety switch.
I hope this may have assisted,
Tom

Aircondition not working....just blowing warm air.....fan is working

Either you are out of coolent or the compressor is not working.

First check the fuses, then lift the hood and have a friend turn the air on. The compressor should cycle, if not take it to a mechanic. If it does cycle you are low on freon, take it to a mechanic for a system charge. Make sure they check for leaks first.
