Me too. I can't shift from park to anything else without jiggling the key and the shift lever harshly, after a while it will disengage from park. During this process my interior cab lights and electric windows stopped working. It sounds like a blew a fuse, which could indicate a broken wire in the colmn. I need help!!

Are you sure the battery isn't low, possibly a charging system problem, have that checked first then if that isn't it let me know.

Wipers wont go off

When you turn off the switch, there is a second switch in the wiper motor that continues to run the wipers until they are parked. If the window where that switch does not keep the wipers running is too narrow, the momentum of the motor turning will carry the wipers past the end of that window—they will continue until they are not-quite-parked. But not-quite-parked, in an absolute sense, is not parked at all, and that switch will reestablish contact, running the wipers to try to get them to the parked position.

Once there, the overrun happens again, and the cycle repeats.

Beyond that, if that switch gets stuck it will keep running the wipers, parked or not.

Sometimes the wiper motor can be easily accessed, opened up, and that switch can be serviced and properly adjusted. Sometimes the motor needs to be replaced.

Find the connector that runs the wipers, and disconnect it while the wipers are running. The blades will stop where they are.

intermittently, and briefly, reconnect the wipers trying to get them to move only 5 or 10 degrees at a time. This will avoid the motor get up a head of steam. If the wipers stop responding to this once they are parked, the window that the switch considers "parked" is too narrow. If they just keep responding to the application of power, even when they are really in the parked condition, then the switch has arced shut.

Chevy S-10 1994 Wipers don't work at all...cruise works, turn signals work, but no wipers. Fuse is fine

Park you car in a quite location.

Engine off

Turn wiper to high and listen for the motor rotation noise near the firewall (near the bottom of the windshield)

If you hear the motor rotation noise and the wipers are not moving then it's the linkage and/or the motor clutch.

Get to it ASAP. A loose bolt connection can damage the linkage arm or clutch.

It's time consuming to replace these hard to reach park.

Transmission wont shift

Start by checking the transmission fluid level. Check it in park with the engine running.

Since this happened while you were driving I would bet that it is not a shift linkage problem and if the fluid level is fine your transmission may need repair or replacement.

2oo2 ford F-150 can't get out of park, wipers and elec. windows won't work

check for water intrusion on left side of dash. just above the fuse panel (or on backside) if this is so..the GEM module may have been damaged...for short term to drive the truck...turn the key to the on position without starting truck...shift into neutral, then start the engine....you can now drive the vehicle until fixed...hope this helps!

Wipers and power windows suddenly stopped working

u have a problem with the Generic Electronic Module, all these functions are controlled through the GEM, the dealer can run a test on this sytem, but of course it must be malfunctioning when the test is run.
