Diconnect your battery earth lead connect a test bulb on the lead and the other to the cars body make sure there is a good connections on your test buld and car if you have a drain the light will light up now for the confusing bit some things on your car are permenantly live example car alarms clocks ect . this in mind remove your cars fuses one at a time until light goes out now see what that fuse controls if its the clock well so it should if all the fuses have been removed and the lights still on then the problem is in one of the non fused circiuts like the starter motor or alternator these will have to be disconnected one at a time until light goes out or you could try finding the relay that is clicking because that is what it will be and replace it see if it cures your problem usually when batteries being drained it is in the light circiut boot lamp, glove box ect yates210456

The clicking you hear is a relay trying to make a connection. this is due to the fact that it doesn't have enough voltage to keep the contacts closed or there is a short in that system and something is making it want to close the circuit but doesn't have enough voltage. the only way i would know which relay it is is to have you look for it in the junction box or the fuse block under the dash. I then be able to provide a resonable solution for this.. please post back with the result of the serch.

Battery drained.car was off large fuses were clicking & running something. Pulled three of them out to make it stop.any suggestions ?

Those clicking things sound like relays, not fuses. Fuses don't click. Charge battery, see what's not working, and put the relays back in. Do they click now?

Most drains are caused by door switches or hood switches not turning off lights. It could really be anything. You can either get a meter, pull off your Negative battery cable and put one meter lead on your now off.negative battery cable and negative battery terminal. Set your meter to read dc amps. Start pulling fuses one by one until the meter reads less then .5 amps or 500 mA. If you dont have a meter you can try pulling one every night until you battery no longer drains and narrow it down from there. Anything with power could really be causing this. Alternator and starters are also known for draining batterys while not running.

My car discharges the battery over night and everything is off, it is a 2002 Nissan Altima, thank you.

you may have to find out if there is something staying on with the key off.but since the first time this happend was the battery --fully-- recharged.this will take about four hours on a commercial battery charger. a small charger may be feft on overnight but this still guess work. if the battery has removeable vent caps get a cheap ball tester and see if it shws all cells fully charged,if no vent caps read the battery voltage should be 12.7. do not overcharge it. without a amp meter you cant see the key off drain on the batterybut if you remove the cable and have a large spark when touching it to the battery it has a drain. asmallspark will be evident on all cars because there are small drains when the key is off from the various computers on the car your car has about 5. there are also certain things that remain on until timed out, when you replace the cable that will stop draing after a few seconds. so finding a drain can be quite hard. normal things like interiour, trunk lights brake lights stuck on are easier to fix.
