Turn signal the turn signal of my car work very slow almost every 5 seconds blink what can i do

The problem I am having is this: The turn
signal on my 1997 Pontiac Grand Am will blink normally most of the
time, but sometimes it won't blink at all. Then I can't turn it on.
Then in a random amount of time I am able to turn it on again by
    flipping the turn signal lever.

    Sometimes
when I first experience the problem I will try to turn the blinker on,
and it won't turn on. Sometimes it will turn on for a few seconds, and
then stop suddenly. Sometimes I have no problem at all. When the signal
is working, the blinking pattern is normal.

    What do
    you think the problem is?

You need to replace the flasher relay located under the dash on the drivers side dash. it is a (2) prong relay either silver colored and round in shape or black in color and square shaped this will solve the problem........please rate this.......thanks

Most common cause is the flasher unit, the other less common cause is the wrong bulbs or incorrectly installed bulbs.

Turn signal flasher relay location in

Turn signals use what is called a flasher to regulate the speed at which the lamps turn on and off. Usually mounted in the fuse box. I have attached the replacement model for a 1996 Roadie. Should take all of 15 seconds to replace.

Turn signal

A slow flash indicates that one of the signal bulbs has burned out. You need to check the turn signal bulbs as well as the marker lamp bulbs. The marker lamps on the the side of the vehicle.

What is causing my turn signals to blink very erractically on my 1996 F350?

Turn signal circuit works off of resistance values, if a bulb goes out then the resistance value changes and causes the blinker to work faster, you most likely have a bulb that occasionally quits working for whatever reason, prob have a bulb going bad..you just have to be able to check all the lights when it's acting up..

You need to go to autozone parts store and have the battery and altanator tested with lights on and blinkers on to see if you have a low voltage problem both could cause this condtion.

Turn signal lights stop working. Neither the right or left turn signal work. Heard a noise before it stop working. The flashing started slowing down and stop blinking. Now it doesn't work at all. What

most likely its the turn signal relay. which is under the hood. in the fuse box. also make sure ur running lights are working if they are connected to the turn signal.

Electrical blinker problem

If the battery drain gauge is registering the "blinks" there is definitely a short between the two wires. As one signal is told to blink they both get power and split the power causing the dim lights. This extra load is enough to momentarily cause heating in the wires and raise the circuit resistance. I would look at the wires coming from the bulb and find where they meet. They may have fused together above a sharp edge or even the exhaust.
