You have to rebuild (which can be ghetto rigged, but never is reccomended) or replace the window winder units. they can be removed, find the rail which those loose cables came from and remove it, it should be an assembly with the winder motor attached. be sure to remove the bolt that attach to the window mount also. if you can locate the place where the end of the cable is supposed to mount (on a little slider thing) and make a new mount for the end of the cable, then take apart the winder motor spool, and re wind the cable inside the spool, then put it back together, you have ghetto rigged yopur winder. if you cant do all that, you will have to replace the whole unit at a cost of around $120.

My rendezouv rear driver window is stuck down. I want to get it to stuck in the up position. How can I release it from the down spot.

You can remove the door panel and unclip the electrical connector. Apply battery voltage and ground to the motor terminals. Switch polarity if the windows goes the wrong way. There is no mechanical way to move the window up unless you cut the cables and then jam the window in the up position with wood. Either way, you'll have to remove the door panel.

Front window motor when out and window is down how do you fix it on a 1999 pontiac grand prix

This sucks when it happens, I have 2 grand prix and have had this happened a few times, First, if you need to get it up RIGHT NOW! This instant even if its late at night? Well its do able. You can remove the paneling, dis engage the motor and prop it up. You might have to cut a piece of wood to hold it up temporarily so that someone wont break in and steal stuff. If you just need a fix it solution, there are a few possibilities, the first thing i would recommend would be to check the window switch, they tend to go bad often. You can do this by 2 ways, One? buy a new one, or 2 get a second grand prix switch from a friend or a neighbor or from someone else and plug it in. If this works, just replace the switch, if it doesnt, then remove the door paneling, and place electricity on one of the connectors on the motor (dont worry which side as they both receive electricity when going up or down) if this works, its a faulty switch, if it doesnt, it might be (95% sure) the motor itself.

I cant get my window down. I took it apart plastic piece that hold window up is broke. How do I get window down to replace plastic piece

sounds like window is leaning. you might have to physically hold window in alignment then try putting it down. if not remove the other plastic piece and take window out, replace window mounts and put window back in.

The electric window has come off the runner, how do I get the door lining off to fix it? Kate

It easy ! You need a philips and flat screw driver,6" X 2" block of wood and a needle nose pliar.
Use flat screw driver and pry out the two or three dust covers for the arm rest screws then use philips and remove the screws. Next use the flat screw driver and pry out the black plastic mirror cover from the inside of the door. Pry out the switch with the flat screw driver and disconnect it. On the side of the door panel just above the striker is this plastic push pull typeof a hold in screw. Use flat screw driver to get it to move a little then pull it out with the needle nose. Depending on which door your doing if you have a map folder in the door there are two more screw to remove on the bottom of the door.
Now the inside door handle is tricky it comes out in two pieces. Use philips and get the only hold down screw you see out.( you may have to pry out al ittle screw cover first) Now the handle cover is removed by placeing the flat screw driver on the rear of the outside of the cover top and on the outside rear bottom to release the tangs that are holding it onto the panel.Pry it out lightly you may have to place the screw driver over the top of the door release button and pry that way. Don't loose your cool its a pain but it will fall out. Once its removed unhook the panel.

Next lift the plastic cover and remove the six gold bolts first(For motor and regulator) Then push the window down till you see the two bolts holding the window to the regulator .Remove them, BEFORE YOU PULL OUT THE MOTOR AND REGULATOR YOU WILL SEE TWO TANGS THAT HELP HOLD THE REGULATOR AND MOTOR TO THE DOOR MARK THE RELOCATION , NOW pull out the motor and regulator have an assistant hold up the glass while you place the two blocks of wood to hold up the window. Now order your regulator and installation is in reverse. Good luck kate. Keep me posted.

Window on rt passenger side went down inside door. Took off inside of door and wire (liking hanging a painting wire) makes a loop but is connected at the top. What do I need to do?

Being raised a farm girl, I do what I need to do at the time to get by. So I took apart my door, pushed the window back up, stuck a piece of fire wood in there to hold it up and wrapped electrical tape (since I couldn't find the duct tape) around the wood and the metal bar that the window slides up and down in. JUST IN TIME before it downpoured. Getting it fixed proper today! When you are in a pinch you do what you have to do. A country girl can survive!
