Question about 2003 Mini Cooper
When the eml lights come on the , the speed reduces
The engine control unit has detected a fault light illuminated which in turn reduces ability to gain high revs as a damage limitation exercise , known as limp home , car requires diagnostic computer to check fault codes to indicate faulty component causing ecu to go into limp home mode

I changed spark plugs, wires and bobin and problem fixed.
it's usually caused cause a any electrical malfuction related directly to the engine; from a loose wire to a bad conected spark plug wire. i really recomend a mechanic that knows about this cars, remember that they are basicly new in our continent. i love my mini!!!!!

I went out to start my 2002 mini this morning. it started, but it would not rev up
more than 2000 rpm. I put it vin gear but it would not go over 2000 rpms.
Any suggestions as to what the problem ?
