After going thru a lot of water my truck will crank but will not go. i have changed wires, plugsa nd rotor and checked fuel pump but it still will not go. someone suggested the timing may be off because of excessive miles but i cannot get distributor off. any help?

I believe that motor still uses a distributor cap, rotor, and seperate coil...it has to be no spark...inspect the cap and rotor for hairline cracks...remove the coil, (Connected to center wire on distributor cap) and have tested...Hope this helps.
I had the same problem with my 91 dodge truck. I checked everything and found the problem to be in the fuel pump relay, it was not making good conection, spayed some WD40 on the conecters and have not had any problems.
