  • You need to open up the drivers side door and look at that harness that stretches between the door and the door frame. Inside that harness are the wires for the electronics in the cabin and then some.

  • Over time those wires get pinched, bent, corroded and crack, bulge or break. So you need to splice the casing open the long ways and inspect the wiring. Sometimes that boot will slide to one side or the other so you don't have to splice into it. Your looking for broke, split, rusted, bulging or otherwise negated wiring. The boots on either side (going into the door frame and the door itself) may need to come off to look up inside for broke wires as well. Usually it's pretty evident which wires are messed up but sometimes you have to do a little digging.

  • When you find the broke wire[s] splice some new wire[s] in and use electric tape to re-insulate.

  • This is a common problem across the board with many car manufacturers and repairing the harness almost always is the fix in a situation such as yours.

  • Hope this helps.

My passenger side power window will not go down. The motor is going (works), switch was replaced. I tested the wires going to the motor and it's getting power. The really odd part is it randomly works...

Could be the driver side switch. there is a power pass thru in the driver controls that if the contacts get corroded will start to cause slow and intermittent operation. Measure the voltage at the motor while actuating both the driver and passenger controls for the problem window. Also, while actuating the passenger side switch, jiggle the driver control switch to see if any change can be affected.

Passenger window switch works but the drivers side switch does not

was regulator bad? did it work from drivers side switch before you did regulator repair?..if so passenger side switch wiring has issue and is not sending signal through it back to the drivers side master switches.. otherwise you need to pin test for power up power down on drivers side switch and repair that if issue going to the window on passenger side.. (possible pinched at door jam area common)

1993 Bighorn Passenger window not working

There could be a lock controller somewhere that is not working.
I don't have a wiring diagram for your truck.

Generally, the power window motors are grounded thru the doors, or the switches provide ground. In your case the motors are probably grounded thru the doors.
The master switch "overrides" the door switch so you have extra wires that do the same thing. The E wire probably gives the door switch power and the A and C are up and down. The B and D are override circuits from the master that bypass the door switch.
Sometimes the motor is grounded thru the switch then thru the door.

Just installed a new power window switch on the passenger side it goes down but wont go up, but if you use the master on driver side it goes up and down confused. got a 2nd new switch and it did the same...

Is it TRYING to go up but can't? You could have high resistance in the ground circuit to the passenger switch. It takes a LOT less power to move the window down than it does to make it go up. There mak be good enough ground to the switch to make it go down, bt not up.

Since it works from the driver's door, this pretty much eliminates the B+ circits and the grounds for the driver's switch. Since the passenger switch itself has been replaced twice, I would think that eliminates the switch itself as the cause. The ground circuit to the passenger switch is the only thing left.

This theory can be easilly verified by running a jumper from Pin "J" BLACK wire at the passenger switch t the battery negative post. If the window now goes up and down from the passenger switch, the ground circuit needs to be repaired.

Passenger side window won't roll up using the driver's side switc

Before you replace anything, inspect the connector pins in both the driver's door switch and the passenger door switch. If you don't find any problem with these connector pins, replace the driver's door control switch.

96 Camry Power Window problem

the power windows of most toyotas only works if the master switch located on the drivers side is good. remove the master switch check for burned traces on the printed circuit board. solder a jumper wire across the burned part and it should work

Passenger side power window suddenly quit working. Window is in "up" position, but will not work from either the driver control switch, nor the passenger control switch.

I had the same problem with my driver side window, so I just replaced the power window motor. It took less than an hour, cost about $35 or $40 and it works perfectly now.
