Question about 2003 Jaguar X-Type

1 Answer

System failure My 2002 jaguar x-type was running fine earlier today then after parking it won't start. When I try to turn the car it it just makes clicking and fluttering noises. Then a message flashed that said system failure. What could be the problem?

If its not a bad battery, or loose cables on the battery, you need to get it in to a repair shop soon. I had the same thing happen, and I eventually wound up doa on the 401 in Canada.

2001 jaguar s-type won't crank battery new and charged. Turn the ignition car won't make a sound

many things will cause no start problems could have faulty ignition switch.use test light see if power going to starter if not check ignition fuse to starter.if power going to starter, more likely starter solenoid or starter faulty.if ignition fuse okay and starter and solenoid okay still no start problem could be in the ignition switch or inhibitor switch faulty.code scan for faulty theft security system which will also cause no start conditions.

2003 Jaguar s-type Transmission fault car wont move

First off check the battery. Try and jump start it. If that does not get the vehicle running you may have a problem with your J gate as it will not start unless in park or neutral. If an internal electrical fault has happened then the micro swith may not send a signal to the ecu to allow the car to start. the J gate is the gear selector by the way

2002 jaguar x type wont start, lights, radio, air have power. clicking sound when turning the key to start the engine. Engine light stays, no engine turnover

Hi .
unlikely to be immobiliser fault ,so check basics, try a set of jump leads or check battery voltage above 12.5,if the clicking is coming from the starter motor with a fully charged battery then suspect starter motor failure.
