How does the c clip get removed?

You need to remove the rear end plate and then the c locks can be remove with a pair of needle nose, you may need to move the axle either in or out to get some clearance to do this or loosen the c lock. Just be sure to drain the rear end before you pull the cover on it.

Trying to change u-joints front and rear on driveshaft? any advice or assistance would be appreciated..

firt you will need to remove the drive shaft by un bolting it from the rear end. U joints are held in with a small clip on some, others have a cover which is bolted on over the end of the u joint. once you remove the clips or cover drive out u joint with a hammer replace with new one insert clips or cover install driveshaft greese all fittings.

How too remove rear axel horsehoe clips too remove axel?

In order to remove the axle, you need to go in through the rear pumpkin. Take the back plate off the rear pumpkin, then you will see where your axle comes in through the sides. Go back to the outer end of the axle, (where the tire goes) and push inward on the axle. It shouls move in about 1/2" or so, just enough to remove the clip. The clip should fall out easily if it is turned in the 'down' position. Then you will need to remove the pins that run through the axles themselvs, and the axles should pull right out to the sides.

Need detailed manual or assistance in replacing left rear axle seal and bearing on 2005 GMC Sierra pickup with 5.3L engine and a 324 rear end

You'll need to remove the rear end cover, remove the pin in the center pumpkin, push axle toward the center of vehicle and remove the axle clip, pull out axle. You may need a bearing puller to remove bearing.

Need to remove rear axle on 67 camaro can't locate c clips

some older cars do not have c lips. you need to jack up car and place on jack stands withe the whelles off the ground. remove rims/tires. remove drum brakes. remove rear end cover. you need a drain pan under it. you need the car in neutral. spin axle. look in rear end. posi or not you will see the large pin that goes through the middle of the diff. one end of the pin is held in by a bolt. reomve the bolt. spin the diff down. slide the pin out. in side the diff on each side are spider gears. with the pin out push the axle in. this will push the clip so you can pull it off of tha axle and spider gera. then pull axle out. noe an easy or claen job but very doable.

How to remove rear axle 03 chevy silverado

You will have to remove the rear end plate off of the back of the rear end. Then turn the carrier untill you see a big silver pin that goes through the spider gears. Those will be 4 small gears in the rear end carrier. If you look at the right side of the carrier were the pin goes through it you will see a small bolt head, That bolt goes through the carrier and holds the pin in place. Remove that bolt then reach up in the rear end housing and push the pin towards you untill it comes out. ( DO NOT TURN ANYTHING AFTER YOU REMOVE THE PIN) are the spider gears will fall out.

Now get someone to push the axel in while you are looking at the 4 small gears in the housing, when they push the axel in a C-clip will fall off the end of the axel and into the rear end, You will see it fall out. Then just pull the axel out.

When you put the axel back in, push it all the way in then slide the c-clip over the end of the axel and then pull out on axel and that will hold the clip in place untill you put the big long pin back in the carrier. I hope you understand, just watch what you are doing. GOOD LUCK.

I need to remove my rear axle shaft

These rear ends don't use c-clips on the axle shafts to remove the axles.

It must be done by removing the axle at the backing plate area.

Rear end

Did you pull the pin at differential just to be sure? If it's non-"C" clips, you'll need a slidehammer attached to hub, over studs & use wheel nuts to hold it on there. Get er done !
