If the coolant temp sensor is faulty it could be causing a fuel problem or maybe a fuel pump

Could be you just need a new set of spark plug wires.Spray all the spark plug wires with WD40 and see if it starts,if it does change all the spark plug wires, one at a time.

Have a 2001 dodge ram quad 5.9 engine code reader says number 6 cyliner misfire.Engine runs rough and back fires till it warms up .When warm doesnt backfire but still runs rough .

First check the spark plug see if its firing or not. Check the plug wire with an ohms meter see if there is resistance if not replace plugwire.Check distributer cap replace if there white gunk on the terminals. One of these should help you. If not then its an internal engine problem like a blown head gasket or cracked head. Maybe a dropped valve or a hole in the piston. You need a compression gauge to check those things. If you have less than 150 pounds of compression id say its one of the last things on my list. Also it could be a lifter that is loosing its prime. My dodge caravan did this and it was a burned valve. I replaced it and it ran just fine afterwards. Hope this helps ya!! Have a great day

What is a firing order

This is a quick explanation:

1996 Dodge Caravan
3.3 liter

The big rectangles are referencing the engine, the cylinder associated to it's "firing" are the colored circles, and the are also the location of the spark plugs....the smaller lego-looking block is your coil pack. The spark plug wires run from the coil pack to the spark plug on the engine. The wires match 1 to1 or black to black...and so on....

When these are matched to each cylinder/spark plug and it's wire leading to the matching coil pack position, this is it's "firing order". If one of the wires is "crossed" meaning, not 1 going to 1, then the engine will "miss-fire".

Exact spark plug wire placement

Turn the crankshaft till the timing mark is at 0...Check where the rotor points...if towards the back of the engine, turn one more time till it points to front. It is now at #1 on cap. Plugs are 1357 on left bank, 2468 on right. order is 18436572 in that order around cap in the direction the rotor turns when cranking.
