Question about 2003 Ford F150 Regular Cab

Windows will work only from driver side controls

I have a 2003 F150 Super Crew (5.4 engine). My power windows will only operate from the driver side controls. This leads me to believe the problem is in the "Window Lock" button. I was hoping to get a pin-out of the wiring harness to see if I could jump out the switch. If anyone has knowledge of the wiring diagram and where the jumper should go....I would definitely appreciate it!!!

    Solved the issue....I took apart the switch and found the contacts for the window and soldered a jumper to make the switch always closed. I don't have children so I don't really need the switch. My Ford dealer said the switch was about $60. I'll wait til it goes kaput before making that move.

I solved the issue by taking the switch apart and soldering a jumper across the contacts for the window lock. Even though the window lock is no longer functional....my wife is happy she can roll down here window.

if you are getting about 14 on average no matter what you do it will not improve, Don't fall for any misleading claims because nothing you add will work. It takes fuel to make power the only improvement i have seen is by reprograming the computer but you must loose power in order to save fuel.

Where is the fuse # For the Power Windows? 2001 F-150 Crew Cab 2x4 5.4 I had Driver side dual switch break and short out leaving both windows and back sliding dont work. I have Checked all fuses in Dash...


if you have super crew in battery junction box fuse #601 30a fuse and fuse #103 50a if not super crew then fuse #110 30a and fuse #103 50a there is also check in the central junction box there is a #14 15a fuse. your power for the windows and back wnidows comes from the acc delay relay in the central junction box if you look at relay and jump or test for power,the 30 and 87 terminal if it works check the battery saver relay next to it with the #14 fuse. hope i didn't confuse you i get that alot lol.

Window problem


Might want to check the doors with the problem windows for a broken wire from the door to the door jam.

The window lock switch is a single circuit to all the other windows, so if there was a problem with it, none of the window controls would work ( but the driver's side would still operate them ).

The other place to check for a broken wire is the driver's side door to a-pillar harness. The circuits for the other windows run through the driver's side switch. Could be a wire in the driver's side door harness.

The other item could be the driver's side switch, the contacts will get carbon built up on them, and the windows will not operate anymore.
This is what mine looked like when the driver's side window stopped working ( lower left hand corner of the picture is the driver's side window switch, note the carbon build up on the contacts )

I would start with checking for broken wires, by metering the window switch for power.

The back passenger's window switch should be getting power & ground on the white w/ yellow stripe wire and the tan w/ light blue stripe wire.
in the "at rest" position on the driver's side switch, these are supplying ground to the power window, and power is being applied to the other side of the motor ( depending on direction of travel ).

I need help with replacing the driver side window in a 2003 ford f-150,four door super crew cab truck.


Removal & Installation
Motor - Front Door
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Remove the window control switch
  3. Remove the front door trim panel and watershield.
  4. Tape the window in the full UP position.
  5. Disconnect the window motor electrical connector.
    NOTE Support the window motor while removing the window motor retaining screws.
  6. Remove the window motor bolts and remove the motor.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Rear Door
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Remove the window control switch.
  3. Remove the rear door trim panel and the rear door trim watershield.
  4. Remove the door speakers.
  5. Tape the window glass in the full UP position.
  6. Disconnect the window regulator electric drive.
  7. Position the connector for the window regulator electric drive inside of the door.
  8. Remove the bolts.
  9. Separate the window regulator electric drive from the rear door window regulator.
  10. Remove the window regulator electric drive from the door.
  11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Remove the window control switch.
  3. Remove the door trim panel.
  4. Remove the door speaker.
  5. Remove the door watershield.
    NOTE Do not remove the window glass from the door.
  6. Remove the window glass from the window regulator.
  7. Tape the window glass in the full UP position.
  8. Disconnect the window motor electrical connector (power windows only).
  9. Loosen the window regulator arm nuts and pull the arm from the mounting position.
  10. Loosen the bolts and remove the window regulator.
  11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

then it might be the motor to that window or a bad switch for that window.

The temperature blend door actuator is located on the right side of the transmission hump under the evap. case. The floor ducts cover it.

2003 F250 Power Windows won't work


check fuses 35 & 41 (10 amp, red).
it also shows an accesory delay relay in the fuse panel.
And fuse 601? 30 amp.

make sure you don't have lock-out on driver switch panel activated.

Power Window System
Features and Operation
NOTE: The accessory delay feature will allow power window operation up to 10 minutes after the ignition is off or until a door is opened.
If equipped with power windows, the window control switch (14529):
  • will operate the power windows only when the ignition switch is in the RUN or ACC position.
  • is located on each front door trim panel, and Crew Cab and Excursion rear door trim panel.
  • may be used to raise or lower the driver side, passenger side and rear windows from the LF control on the driver side, or the passenger window from the passenger switch.
  • includes a one-touch down (OTD) feature for the driver door window.
  • can partially lower the driver side window when the LF window control switch is depressed half way (first detent).
  • will completely lower the driver side window when the LF window control switch is fully depressed and then released (second detent).
Power Window System — Modes of Operation
There are two modes of operation for the power window system.
Manual Mode
When the LH window control switch is pressed to the first down position, the window will move down until one of the following conditions are met:
  • The LH window control switch is no longer in the first down position.
  • The LH window control switch is pushed to the OTD position, causing the windows to enter auto mode.
Auto Mode
Auto mode provides the OTD feature. The OTD feature is activated when the LH window control switch, for the LH window, is pressed to the second down position.
Auto mode will be terminated when any of the following conditions are met:
  • The LH window control switch is pushed to the UP position.
  • The LH window control switch is released (OFF position) and then moved to the DOWN position (first detent) or OTD position (second detent).
  • Note: Delayed accessory feature must be active.
The OTD feature is controlled by the window control switch.
