Question about 2001 Volkswagen Beetle

1 Answer

Electrical Problem I have searched google on trying to find out why my EPC and brake lights are on. I have found this forum where three seperate people say that the same exact problems happened to them when they installed a new radio. Also, the A/C doesnt blow very hard and my power locks keep cutting in and out.

The stop lights use a common earth same as the radio, for the A/C clean the pollen filter and as for the door locks try removing the front door trims and giving the locks and locking motors a good soaking with a conventional oil can full of engine oil

How to shut off the EPC

If you mean ESP, or Audi's traction control, then follow this link:

http://www.audiforums.com/forum/audi-tt-7/esp-light-wont-turn-off-81683/

If you mean EPC, then sorry, I cannot help you there.

I recommend asking this question at an Audi forum or searching for the answer in their archives.

Why do my brake lights stays on my 08 caddillac dtsdts even when I'm not hitting the brakes?

If all three brake lights are on, I'd say the problem is in the switch by the brake pedal. Take the cover off below the steering wheel and inspect the brake pedal and the switch. It may be as easy as spraying some silicone lube on the actuator. Try to do a search on this forum for brake light switch.

The epc light comes on the odd time, in my 2004 audi a3. I cannot find the manual. I am interested in knowing what it means?

I am having the same problem on my Audi A4 2004 FSI, lose power whilst driving at speed with the EPC light coming on. Looks like a design fault of some kind with Audi petrol engins, have read a few forums about this but no clear straight answer. Check the link below:

I Have a 2004 Polo Classic 1.6 Petrol. The EPC light came on on the dashboard and the brake lights stopped working. I replaced the brake light switch and the problem still there, I disconnected and...

The EPC (electronic powertrain control) system deals solely with monitoring the electronic accelerator pedal and moving the throttle body to match positions. Most likely, there is a problem with the accelerator pedal. However this does not explain the brake light situation......sometimes it is due to aftermarket electrical modifications that are added that interfere with the factory wiring and ecu......i would be looking in that dirrection

EPC LIGHT

The EPC light has to do definitions. One has to do with the tire pressure monitoring system. The other is the transmission line pressure control. I wish you could give me more information but to take a stab at this problem I will guess that your problem has to do with the brake-light switch (on the brake-pedal). Sounds like the switch is stuck on or defective and the TCC (torque converter clutch) Is getting a constant signal to disengage. Thus that's why you can shift without using the brake-pedal. Good luck.
Let me know how your making out.

EPC Light on , VW dies when stopping

Tell him to clean the electrical connector at the throttle body with 90% rubbing alcohol. He may want to use a nylon brush on the contact pins while cleaning. I'm pretty sure the car needs a throttle adaptation performed also. Find a shop with a Vag Com scanner, they can do it for you.
