Check all grounds running from all electrical, If there is not a good contact this problem will occur, when you locate the ground surface take sandpaper or even a knife and scrape or sand the connector and the ground surface then reconnect it, It should return to normal if not then it could be a solenoid possibly but not sure

either your alternator has gone or your fan belt is not there which helps the alternator to charge the battery get a volt meter on your alternator to see if it is kicking out what it should be

Try to check the alternator and also check the fuse and alwas make sure that the battery terminal is fix and it is not loose.

If alternator is good, it should stay running with cable off. What is your battery voltage with & without engine running?

Sounds like it is the alternator. If yoy have a charger, put it on for a bit. Or maybe do it during the day when you wont need headlights. But take it somewhere that will give you a free charging diagnostic. For instance AutoZone or Advance auto parts. But I am pretty confident taht you need an alternator. Especially if you have a charging light on in the dash.
