Have the car scanned for codes at AutoZone (it's free) and post the codes up here as a reply. Then we can help you trace and locate the problem.

I have a 2003 SAAB 9-3 2.0 Linear and just filled it up with gas and the gas gauge now reads empty and the engine light came on. I just got the car a week ago.

You may need a new fuel sender (sensor) is why car isn't reading your gas, and with the engine light now on that is cause your gas cap wasn't put on tight enough. I've had both of these happen to me with my car. Hope this helps.

Check engine light on after fixes. car runs fine

Most of the time this happens, it is due to a loose fuel cap. The system senses that the tank is not pressurized and send a fault as if th cap is missing. Ensure the cap is on tight and allow for a few days to let the system reset itself. Other that that, most check engine light fault are due to failed or failing components in the Emmissions...these include EGR valves, PVC valve, and O2 sensors. If you are not experiencing less that optimum fuel economy, you may just have a bad seal at the fuel cap. I hope this information helps narrow down the problem.

P1456

code P1456 set when there's small leak in the fuel tank system.
Most known reason for P1456:
-Didn't tight fuel cap on until it click for more that 3 time after fueling up and drove the car too long with cap loose.
-or a bad gas cap.
I'll try tighting the gas cap.
clear check engine.
if code come back, replace gas cap and clear check engine light again.

2008 saab 9-3, probable causes for check engine light to go on?

Sometimes when you dont close your Gas cap tight, the light come on But could be something else detected by the computer. Take it to an auto part and they will scan it for you for free and they will tell you whats the code. Good luck

I have a 2003 saab 9-3 2.0t and my engine light came on, and i dont know what to do, im not very good with cars, please help

This indicates a malfunction within the engine control computer which operates and monitors many functions of the engine, transmission and emmision control devices. At this point you should have diagnostics ran to where a technician will interface your vehicle with a diagnostic computer and retrieve trouble data set by your computer as these codes are stored.Sometimes these are fairly non-detrimental trouble codes which may only take a reset for instance fuel emmision codes set as a result of a lose gas cap.
