Question about 2000 Ford Expedition
This can sometimes be fixed by spraying WD-40 inside the door on the latching mechanism. The switches can become gummed up and stick.

You have a courtesy light switch that is malfunctioning, it can be in any of the four doors or the rear hatch, the only way to pinpoint it is to have the dealer hook it up to a scan toot and they can pin point the bad switch that is causing the lights to stay on. The switches are very cheap they are attached to the door latch on the inside of the door.
