This is a great site for aircon FAQ's:
http://www.id-usa.com/how_to.asp
It can show you how to check what gas you are using, how to check the system and how to top it up if neccessary, there is plenty of info and video if you need it.
I found it a great help when my wife had problems with the aircon in her Pontiac.

Need to know where 2001 jaguar xk6 terminal under hood, battery is in back but when battery is dead can not open trunk, this happened one other time and can not remember where it is ,somewhere on left if you...

do you mean xk8? if so there is a B+ post under the bonnet rh has you sit in car. if it is rh drive it is on the plastic housing that contains the brake master cylinder, there is also a key slot in the rh boot badge for key access but that normally siezes up because it is rarely used. try putting some wd40 in it and keep trying to get it to work. note it will not work with the green valet key, only the black key. good luck.

I have an s-type and it only blows hot air not cold but compressor and ereything else is working?

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. It sounds like you may need to add freon to the unit. Your A/C line should have a service port on it, looks like a bicycle tire valve, just bigger. The pipes are aluminum, so they are easy to pin point. You can buy the freon at Autozone, Advanced, or even Walmart. You may have a leak causing the freon to leak, but since it is 11 years old, it may just need filled.

How do I put freon in my car?

If your car has never had the entire a/c system replaced,it has to be done by a shop.Pre-1995 has the old R-12 freon systems.1995 and after uses R-134a freon. You cannot use one with the other. To get R-12 freon, you have to have a special permit/license to use/sell purchase or dispose of it.If your system has been replaced, just comment to this post,I will get an auto email and will tell you how.
Sorry and good luck.Greg

What type of refrigerant is required for the 1995 caddy

Hello jholton111: My name is Roger and I will help you. The correct refrigerant for the A/C is R134A. You did not say what model Cadillac you had so I cannot tell you how much freon it holds. You should have a sticker on the car that tells how much freon and oil the system holds. Should you need further help or assistance please just ask. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

I need to charge my a/c, does anyone know how? It's a Jaguar S Type, 2001 and thhe system needs to be charged but I can't figure out where the inlet valve is. Michael

the inlet vavle is the tube with the big fitting on it usually located on the high side of the system (hot to touch) the canister of freon will only fit on one of the fittings. look against the fire wall of the car and look for the aluminum tubing that comes from the wall that leads to the radiator area you should be able to tell which one is the right one to use.

How to put freon in jaguar s-type

The compressor is located underneath the drivers area towards the front. Right beneath the compressor is the low pressure port and there's where you put your freon. You have to raise the car.. follow your owners manual for jacking... you should also use a hard jack for support since you will go a little underneath the front of the car... use alight. I recommend you get the freon 134 kit that has a pressure gage  so the you can see if the freon pressure         ( pressure high full or a problem with system ) or low and needs charging

Strange noise and smell after attempting to charge a/c

yes those cans of freon come with a conditioner/lubracant in them as well as the freon. Its very possiable that you got some where it does not belong. If you are filling every year you have a leak. If you are not evacuating the system chances are you are over filling it. Take it like you said to a shop. Then after they evacuate it fill it on your own a few years.

Air conditioner does not blow cold air

all cars of that year use r-134 refrigerant. Follow the ac lines till you run across the service port. The one near the evaporator (front of engine) is the high side; leave that one alone. It usually is marked with a red cap
the low side port is near the firewall, and usualy has a blue cap. The valve for a refill can usuallly will only fit on a low side. When filling the can will get very cold very fast. If the can doesnt start to get cold immediately, remove it you have it on the wrong side. Make sure to remove it immediately, as keeping it on the high side will pump liquid freon into the can causing it to explode.
