Changing parking light bulb in front

It looks like it's necesary to dismantle sidewing in order to free front grill getting access to lighthouse. There's no access from behind either.
How is it done ? with need of special tools or what. ?

Fisrt of all remove the Plastic fixings from the top of grill then carefully place your hands in the bottom grill slots and give a sharp pull, this should release the inner push type fixings (4 in all, one on either side of the headlamp towards middle of car and one either side at the wing)(very tight fit) the to release the outer edge ones carefully run your hand along the bottom of the headlamp and behind the plastic bottom edge of the grill the till you get as close to the wing as possible, then another sharp pull.Do this again for the other side and you good to go.On refiting make sure the two wing end pins are placed in first as these can be a pain if not inserted properly.. Hope this helps

I need to change the parking lightbulb in the front. There's no immidiate access from engine compartment room, and consulting the users manual provided with the car, it states that lighthouse needs to be dismantled, and in order to do this front grill needs to be dismantled, and that's the problem. Front grill is fitted with 4 plasticfitters easily removed, but below in front of radiator and on each side the frontgrill is also fitted with "something" but with no access from neither below or behind.

The question is how to remove front grill on a Grand Vitara 2004 1.6.

Best regards

Changing a parking light bulb in front head light assembly

Remove the front wheel liner from the strut to the front bumper, all light assembly light bulbs will then be accessible. There may be screws however the majority is a plastic clip where you pull the center out then the clip easily removes.

How do i change the front head light

  1. You're going to have to take off the grille for this... Start by propping up the hood and get some screwdrivers. We have to start by taking off the turn signal/parking light assemblies.
  2. Unscrew and unplug the parking light assemblies, then set 'em somewhere safe. Keep an eye on the screws.
  3. Look under the hood, right behind each headlight. There should be some tabs holding the grille into the frame of the truck. Push those in with a screwdriver. Check all the way along the grille, gently freeing it from the truck. Great job.
  4. Each headlight is held in by a metal retainer. It's usually got 4 screws, but might have 2. I've seen people try to remove this without taking off the grille, but they usually drive themselves crazy because of these screws. Just do the screws connecting the metal touching the glass of the headlight. The other ones are the adjusters, which you can use to aim your headlights. Yours should be fine.
  5. Once the retainer's free, you should be able to coax the bulb from the truck. Unplug it, throw it away (or keep it as a trophy), and install your new bulb
Now you can put it back together. Bulb, plug in, retainer, screws, grille (pop all the tabs in), and then the turn signal lamps (plugs and screws). I know it's a pain; used to do it in the parking lot, in the dark, in the rain. This is one of those times when it's best to replace both bulbs since you're in there, just to save yourself some time later. You can always keep the good (old) bulb for later (emergency) use.

Do I need to remove entire grill to change front left headlight?

If they are sealed beam headlights then you have to remove the grille in order to gain access to the screws to change the light. If they are halogen bulbs, they are accessed from behind the headlight. Held in by a retaining ring.

I need to take apart my 4unner grill

There will be one screw to undo, the rest is held in by clips , these are accessable from the front, using a flat bladed screwdriver lift the small tag protruding from the front of the clip, the grille will pop out ( one clip at a time) , leaving the clips behind in the radiator support panel, these come out with a twist and can be clipped back in to the grille before re-installation

How do I change my front turn signal? I can access the lower signal from under the bumper, I can't access the signal that is next to the headlight. There are no screws in front to take the plate off,...

The signal light on the grill next to the head light can be accessed by removing the the front grill. Your going to need a torque screw driver to remove the grill to get to the light bulb. The signal from under the bumper can be accessed from behind the bumper and you need not to take the turn light assemble off from the bumper. There are LED light bulbs available now and last much longer then the conventional bulbs and cost not that much more. Auto Zone carries these replacement LED bulbs and they can give you the step by step instruction to getting the job done if you need more illustration. Good luck and hope this helps and please rate, keep me posted. Be glad to help you get your lights replaced.

Engine hood wont open hood pull handle pulls out but wont release

Try pulling on the hood release, while someone else lifts the hood. If this doesn't work. You can access the underside of the hood release by taking the front grille out. If you look closely you'll see the retainer screws that can be removed from the front. Once the grille is out or loosened enougt to get your hand in behind, you can release the hood latch from the underside with a screwdriver and then repair the hood latch after you've opened it.
