Question about 1983 Dodge Ram 50 4WD
Hi and thanks for all the help you may give me. I have a 1983 dodge ram d50 that starts every time and will drive fine when cold but when it is warmed up or you drive it 15 or more miles it will die when you slow down to a stop sign. After it dies it will start right back up for only a second then die or die when you put it in gear. If you let the pickup set for around 15 minutes it will run fine for another few miles then the same thing will happen. I have had the pickup in and the mechanics just scratch their heads and have no idea what is wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
My favourite mantra this time of year. check the ignition relay... it is often located in the engine compartment fuse panel.... another consideration is you may have a shorted wire or poor connection in some part of the distributer cap or coil. can't recall if they used coilpacks that far back in the model years but that's a suspect as well.
