The door ajar wont turn off and the dome light isnt turning even when i try and manually turn it on, and its not a supercab just a regular basic truck
Spray inside the center door latch with WD40 or silicone lubricant. You might have to remove or partically remove the plastic shield cover the opening. It's the part the door latches too, spray all around inside there and that should allow the switch to release. the switch either dries out or gets dirty and sticks, the spay will loosen and clean it.
You need to replace the door latch assembly in the door that is causing it. the door ajar switch is on the latch assembly and some/most aren't replaceable without replacing the whole latch. Try the drivers door first. just unplug it and if the lights don't go out then it is the pass side door. if it's the pass door just leave it unplugged so they don't come on at all if ya want. if you take the door panel off the door frame you will see the wires going to the latch. i rather just have the whole door ajar disabled/taken out cause its very annoying, but will that affect the lighting? and what do i unplug the wide plastic one?
also i think the guy who had the truck before me disabled the light because of the door ajar, can you tell me how to fix it?
