I have a 2002 auto tdi jetta and have the same problem. When I put it in reverse, the car just revs or rolls forward. I was hoping it was not the transmission.

Well there is no soft easy way to put this, the trans will have to be removed torn down and repaired, the reverse problem indicates a serious internal failure.

2003 nissan maxima has no reverse

It could be as simple as a shift solenoid but you need to have the transmission checked. It can be diagnosed for about 90 bucks and well worth finding it now then later.

When put into reverse and gas is pressed car goes nowhere but revs up when car is put in drive and revs to 4000 RPM it just inches forward. Any idea why?

If it's an automatic, is there fluid in the transmission? If the fluid is ok, the transmission is bad. If it's a straight stick, the clutch is bad.

No forward movement but reverse works fine. Help?

More than likely the forward clutches are burnt, causing the no forward movement problem.Remove the transmission dipstick and smell the fluid,if it smells like burnt coffee then you need the transmission rebuilt.

94 tauras AT once warmed up trans will drop out gear at a stop

This is a common problem. You have a cracked forward clutch piston. Ford made this part out of aluminum. The replacements are steel. But you have to disassemble the transmission to install it. ( I know you said Rev too, In the AXODE trans, the forward clutch is on in 1st and reverse)
